  1. Glaxie, I can't thank you enough for the stuff you sent me. Now I know exactly how I'm going to proceed with hanging the yards.
  2. One picture will be worth a thousand words if some one can get me a picture of how a single spar (yard) is attached to the mast. Constructo gives none!
  3. Walter, I saw the circles on the side view and marked each mast accordingly. I laid out all the sails to match them with each spar. I got the sail names from the internet. The plans to make the spars are excellent, though.
  4. Typical Constructo....They gave me detailed plans to build the spars, but no plan as to where they go or their names. There's one very small picture with bo names or details.
  5. I'm working on the stays. I'm also trying to improve on my attempt at seizing as I tried to attach each stay to its mast. I've tried pre-making neat seizings only to have them turn into a rats nests when attempting to use them. Maybe in my next life.
  6. The ratlines are finally finished! I feel like I tied 50,000 knots. If I had to do it over, I would have chosen a thinner guage line for the ratlines. These appear a little too heavy for my taste, but that's what Constructo told me to use. Live & learn. Now I'm working on the various stays
  7. Bill, Thanks...this is what I will do. I'm still puzzled about attaching the lines at the top? Just a knot seems wrong. Oh well?
  8. Bill, Constructo's instructions for the top mast rigging is completely lacking in detail. How do you attach the upper shrouds to the top mast? There's nothing there.
  9. Frank gave me a good tip a while ago on how to trim and clip small parts and line. He said use a straight edge nail clipper and believe me it works great, Well I just found an even better trimmer...a cuticle trimmer I found in the dollar store for a dollar! It really gets you tight and close.
  10. Out of the mouths of Admirals...... My Admiral just watched me tie what seems like my 50,000th ratline and says to me..."Don't put too many strings on your ship....I want everyone to see all of that fine wood work." Has any one heard that before?
  11. You're lucky to get laser cut parts....Constructo gives you some wood and a drawing. Anyway, very nice work. I love your details.
  12. My shipyard is idle today as we get ready to host 40 guests for a Christmas party. I'm 16 months into this build and I've learned a lot from all of you...that's a nice Christmas present!
