No way! After all the work my Pickle sails with two boats.

I‘ve made a little modification on the fore yard stirrups. They are not made from brass wire but the same black thread I used for the footropes.

The gammoning and the lower mast shrouds (fore mast) are rigged.

At last the ship's boats have been completed. Believe me, it was a real challenge.

First of all the boat's resin hulls should have been sanded. Otherwise you can have big problems when glueing the cartridge paper for the ribs into the hull. My big awareness...

But the rest was quite easy.

Well, the lauch is very tall and I'll don't fit it until the rigging has been completed.

    Thanks, Bill.

The assembly of the yards, gaffs and the driver boom is done.

The next photo shows the dry fitted parts.

Maybe it‘s very helpful using brass wire to keep the parts in place when fixing the parrels.

Thank you very much for your kind words B.E., Ferit and Bob.

This afternoon I've painted the masts.

    Assembly of the masts.

The two parts of the lower masts. The lower parts are 6mm dowels and the upper parts are 4x4mm walnut.

Fore top and main top are fitted. The top must sit parallel to the waterline when the masts are fitted into locating holes.

And the same procedure with the topmasts.  This time the lower parts have to be sanded to an octagon.

    Ready for painting.

Time for bowsprit and mast assembly. I‘ve just finished the bowsprit. For tapering all the masts, yards and booms I‘ll use my Proxxon lathe.

Here are the tapered parts. The two holes in the bowsprit cap have to be drilled in.

And here is the assembled bowsprit with all the fittings. The bowsprit and jib-boom should be stained walnut, but I like this colouring more. Well, it's just a matter of taste.

Only a minor update for today.

I've glued the elm tree pumps into place and fixed the anchor to the anchor cable.

Well, it wasn't even a good idea to paint the casing and the outlet black...

The anchor will be stowed later

And at last a total view as of July 27.

Hi all, the next part of the deck fittings is done: the elm tree pumps. The assembly was quite time-consuming.

The first image shows all the parts of the pumps

Referred to the instruction the outlet should be just glued to the casing and nothing else. I decided to fit the parts into each other. I also drilled a little hole into the outlet.

In the next step I've glued the two parts of the yoke together and glued then to the side of the pump casings.

The rest of the assembly was quite easy.

    Thank you very much, Hamilton.

Now here are some more pictures of the rig:

The rig is done now. At last there are some finishing touches in order. As you can see, all the belaying pins still need some rope coils.

    Hi Richard:

I love the close up shots - gives a great impression of the fine points! And it's also exciting to see the rigging dangling around waiting for the final touches - very exciting!

Few pics before I forget on the approach taken for the single blocks for the carronade rigging, this seems to have worked best so far after many choice words on multiple failures.  Finding this particularly fiddly dealing with the hooks and the blocks and keeping them aligned....at least the double blocks only need stropping.

After simple overhand knot through the previously made hook, applied a bit of GS Hypo glue to the thread and attach the single block (very small amount of glue, this is just a temp at way to stop the block continually falling out

Yet another overhand knot around the block for the stropping.  "Helping hands" come in very handy here

With the block still in the helping hands, pry open the stropping enough to insert a length of the line through and pull around so its at the bottom of the block (believe its the **** end?) and tie a double overhand knot

Apply some dilute PVA glue and trim once dry...repeat

Hi guys, I'm very glad you like my boat building .
I finished the the rudder and I added a belt of decorations on the boat. The boat is in fact done.

Jastrzab: thanks for comments. Next pictures are following special for you .
Sparrow: Jan, I am very glad to serve as a source of inspiration .  Some years ago I was in the same situation, but after busy years in business I have now a lot of time on ship modeling .
The inside of the boat is completely ready, the rudder remains to be completed and then anchor and oars.

You are doing a fine job with this model. I especially like the parrels in this photograph. Great work on the rigging as well.
