Hey guys, I wanted to give a little info and provide a thread for questions, etc. regarding our Brass Ship Coins. These coins are made of solid brass (not plated) and each coin is individually engraved with your information. Size: 40mm Weight: 24 grams Thickness: 2.8mm You can purchase via amazon at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FFZJKHCS Each coin has 2 sides... Side A is typically the ship's image. I have developed about 12 images that you can choose from or if you have black/white artwork, I can do a custom image for you. Side B is typically the Builders side where I engrave your name, ship name, date built, etc. I can really engrave whatever you want. If you have ideas or questions about customizing, we can discuss here prior to buying and I will let you know if it's possible. These coins are really beautiful and will add alot to your display. You can also get the bezel/chain if you want to make your coin into a keychain or necklace. Thanks for looking...let me know if you have any questions. Gene

Thanks Kurt and I do appreciate your help and patience in bringing me on board and I'm very happy to be here. I will create a separate thread for the Brass Coins and the Plank Bending Tool so as to keep photos, questions, etc more organized. Here, I will only give a little background info on myself. I came to the hobby late in life, only a few years ago. I have completed 3 models and I am currently rigging The Montanes by Occre. Like others, I tend to buy kits as I come across them and I probably have more in dry dock than I have years to complete...but I like to think I'm an optimist. I tend to like the larger kits and actually prefer the older ones. Right now I have the Panart Amerigo Vespucci (1980's version), the Panart San Felipe, and Panart Royal Carolina. I tinker alot in the shop and I am a printer/engraver by trade. Thanks for having me .......

I'd like to share one of the best pieces of equipment I have bought in recent years. A heavy dutay adjustable work table. I love this thing...it rolls around, it is height adjustable so that I am not breaking my back...and gives me a little storage for tools I'm using at that particular time. I've attached a picture of mine in use....

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
