  1. Sorry James, certainly not my intention to suggest you are using a compromised account. I was only looking for an explanation of why I am unable to donate.
  2. Thanks for the response Mike. I have been a victim of fraud previously with a fake PayPal account so it’s possible the card company have intervened. Definitely reluctant to use PayPal going forward.
  3. Thanks for the heads up. It appears everything is ok with the card however I have been unable to make a donation.
  4. this is the message I get when trying to donate: CAD Your card issuer declined this payment. Please check your card information or try a different card.
  5. I’ll try again. It’s a MasterCard.
  6. I have found the donation link at the bottom of the home page unfortunately my credit card keeps being rejected. I tried a few times but was not successful. Not sure how to proceed at this point. Any suggestions? Russ
  7. Hi, is the orange fund raising banner meant to provide a link for to make a donation? On my I phone it is not functioning. Russ
  8. I’ll jump onboard with Ross and say I appreciate an experienced builder taking time to share their techniques. Russ
  9. This has been a fascinating conversation about scale as it relates to paint. As a relative newcomer these are subtle details which would be overlooked by most novices I think. Very insightful! Russ
  10. Really enjoying your added details. It all looks great to my eye, and it inspires me to follow your lead and add a few extras of my own. Looking forward to seeing the next deck. Russ
  11. I am familiar with the process of touching up the touchups of the touchups. The endless parade of cleaning brushes in my case. Your project is looking great ! Russ
  12. Cheers for that Ronald. It’s heartening to know that you are also working on improving your skills😊
  13. To follow up on the amazing work seen here by Ronald I am curious about your painting technique. I have been spending time looking back through your posts and may have overlooked something but do you paint entirely by hand or do you use an airbrush or a combination of both. Curious because as a newcomer I have no airbrushing skills so brush painting it is. I guess my question is do you achieve these incredible results using a brush only. Apologies if this has been asked before. Russ
  14. I have set up a section on my reminders app on my phone to keep track of the many tips, tricks, and products that appear while looking through everyone’s builds.
  15. They have appeared. Cheers for that. I will follow along as I am considering the Adder some time in 2026.
  16. Managed to find some pictures online to confirm the positioning so I believe I am back on track. Russ
  17. Hi, you kindly provided a diagram of the main mast channels for me from the book- HMS Victory, her construction, career and restoration by Alan McGowan. Would you be able to provide a diagram of how the chain plate configuration looks. The plate positions on video 20 don’t look very elegant but may be correct Any help would be great. Hope your build is going well. Russ
  18. You are so right Roland. Mistakes have been made and hopefully they have been burned into my brain! It has been a ton of fun so far and being able to access the wealth of info and follow some of the experienced builders is great. Russ
  19. Just preparing for the remnants of Mellisa to pass through tomorrow so it should be a productive day. Since my last post I have finished stitching on the hammock crane netting which turned out to be an exercise in patience . I spent a bunch of time researching how these structures may have looked and functioned with no definitive answer so just kinda blended a number of ideas into my own interpretation. I’ve also decided to fill the hammock cranes with hammocks and have nearly finished those as well. Next up will probably be the chain plates. Thanks for looking in. Russ
