  1. Thanks Roland, here are the details of the lamp.
  2. Hi all, about to start ship building so I reorganised my workspace. The right hand section will now be plastic modelling whilst the left hand space for ship building. The left space may also morph into spray booth area but time will tell, the booth is portable so can be added at anytime. This always subject of how much dust and and detritus I will produce prior to airbrushing. I do tend to clean and clear the bench every-time I finish (ex engineer) so it may not be a problem. All the furniture is from the wonderful world of IKEA.
  3. Roland, just about to start my first ship, reading your log scares me to death that I'm going to completely •••••• the build. Been a plastic modeller for a very long time so this is another step. Hm Sherbourne is being delivered by sled so keen to start the journey. Stunning build Roland hopefully I'll achieve around 5% of your skill.
  4. Welcome aboard Andy, I’m also a newbie. Good to see a UK builder.
  5. I use DSPIAE drill bits for must projects, very impressed with them. I'd also recommend their tools as well.
  6. I was looking to improve my Dremel arsenal of tools and attachements for ship building. In my search (price checking) I found that Amazon UK have significant deals on a number of Dremel items. For instance, their drill stand was reduced by 32% and yes the wallet did try to remain sealed but alas to no avail. Early Santa presents.
  7. Welcome to MSW, I’m a newbie myself, the amount of information on here is incredible.
  8. Rob, stunning build as ever, the decals look amazing against the gloss black.
  9. Thanks Andrew, there is so much to read here not sure if I'm going to get any modelling done. The Sherbourne is due to be delivered on Thursday....... Phil.
  10. Mike, thank you so much for your exhaustive reply. MDF is my biggest concern, over the years I’ve always sanded resin using water etc but ship building is another genre. The major sanding I’ll do in the garage where all my large wood and metal working machines are. Thanks for the advise it’s food for thought Phil.
  11. Thanks, much appreciated. Phil.
  12. I also model indoors in a converted double bedroom. How did you find the extract and MDF dust collection on this? I like the aspect of it being portable. Thanks in advance. Phil.
  13. Thanks Chris, awaiting delivery of the Sherbourne. Phil.
  14. Thanks John, I worked in the design industry all my life and that meant daily project deadlines that had to be met. Retirement has cleared my brain of all deadline anxiety, so life is a more relaxed affair. I will definitely do a build log. Phil.
  15. Thanks Jim, I won't mention the cricket. Phil.
