Hello Shipmates.
Another update.. on the victory.
Quarter Deck is now planked and all tree nails and gun port hardware added.
View of side ..No sanding here until all planks are in place and tree nailed.
Quarter deck Timbers made up and ready to install.
Not all the timbers are glued together yet as will do this on assembly.
Getting to the part where adding the outer planking after this deck is planked and furniture is added.
Then trimming the two end faces.
All the gun woodwork parts are made and I have decided to remake the barrels.
That's about it for now..
Regards Antony.

Hi all.
Thanks for the welcome.
I will stop with a stub mast as the area for the display is max 1 metere square.
Might consider doing a drawing of the mainmast and the standing and running rigging if wanted.
I will take a photo today for you Yves. And post it tonight.
I will continue adding details into my drawings as I progress.
The deck plans will be next to be drawn.
If I have drawn in any errors then please tell me. No I won't growl at anyone
Regards Antony.

42rocker reacted to AntonyUK in HMS Victory by AntonyUK - FINISHED - Scale 1:36 - cross-section
Hello.
I have been asked to construct a Model to show the inside of a Ship.
I have chosen to build the HMS Victory at a large scale of 1/36.90
Having got permission to use the plans from :-
http://www.mountainhaven.com/VictoryXCP/PDFbin/Frame_Sta_( .pdf
http://www.mountainhaven.com/VictoryXCP/PDFbin/Frame_Sta_0.pdf
http://www.mountainhaven.com/VictoryXCP/PDFbin/Frame_Sta_3.pdf
A previous topic regarding plans.
http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/2885-large-scale-cross-section-drawings/#entry79890
I have redrawn the plans and added bits and made the drawings slightley more accurate.
I am using adobe illustrator.
The nice thing about using Illustrator is that it is vector drawn so it can be scaled up to any size. I am printing mine on A1 this gives me the scale of 1:36.90
The construction of this model will consist of five frames on each side.
The Keel is make from mahogany.
This will have holes for pining the frame guides.
And the Garboard plank cutout. And false copper pins/rivets.
The two frame guides are fixed to the keel.
The frames are inserted into the frame guides and jig'ed to hold them at the correct shape and distance.
I have also included the curvature of the hull into the model.
The clamping blocks have a curve in to allow for the hull curvature.
The clamping blocks will remain in place until I need to remove them for planking.
The dummy frames will be added to the ends of the hull.
I will use 4mm basswood for the dummy frames.
Next I will plank the exterior.
Then its building up the deck by deck.

If I can remember how to put the pic in order .
I have made repairs from bad docking procedures. But I keep for getting there are two sides to look at and this is the bad side of the bow.
Dumb me I figured out the garboard dimensions. Hopefully when all the clamps com off there will be a straight line.

Hey Buddy,
I thought you were down for the count and taking a break. Now that I know the Admiral gave a command, it is quite understandable. Speaking of Admirals, mine just gave the command that we are going shopping this weekend. Please pray for us sinners. LOL.

Finally got those last 3 cannons painted!!! Been working on the Admirals newly acquired used flagship ( 1995 Ford Aerostar mini van ) and had to sneak in the paint job while taking a break from it.... LOL She says I've done such a nice job on her flagship that I may get a promotion out of it..... LOL

I think Tim nailed it. Looks like the view of the keel, false keel, and sternpost as seen from the stern.

1st thought and it might be wrong but I think that it is an end view of the part of the right showing size and shape. Note how high it is and the part to the right.

Hi David,
I use normal wood glue from "Clou" and thank you very much
When all the parts are glued together and the glue is still wet, I loop everything so that all gaps be filled with wood glue and sanding dust. I've had good experiences to do it this way

A little progress on the gabare
Here you can see the Sternpost, false Sternpost, inner Sternpost, Sternpost knee and a filling piece under the Sternpost knee and last but not least the keel. The false keel is not on the picture but it is ready build
then I glued everything
and here on the helling

Greetings to all,
I’ve finally completed the standing and running rigging for my Triton. I added the truss pendant, nave line, and another pin rail on the QD rail and the top’s rail. I still have to dress up the lines a bit. I also have to add the other components together in order to say my build is complete. These items include, ballast, barrels, ½ boat, crates, spare timber, and lines. Upon completion of my Triton I’ll move ahead and construct a display case for it. The following photos will show you how she looks so far.
