Matti, in fact, Sigmundus III Waza originated from Sweden. He was using the title of the Swedish King while ruling in Poland. His son Władysław IV was also a king of Poland and his step-brother Joannes Casimirus was the last Wasa on a Poland's throne. They were all using the title of the Swedish and Polish king. Therefore there were a war between Poland and Sweden.
The most recognizable battle was the battle of Oliwa. There were some ships like: Yellow Lion, Aquarius, Water Maiden
Take a look here http://www.bojer.pl/modele_statkow_zestawy
Cheers,

The stern looks realistic in fact. I'm waiting for more photos. The sculptures are convincing

Hi tree nails at this scale would need to be so small you most likley would not see them, I think any scale above 1/48 are better of without them I have scale planked my Diana deck and at 1/64 the planks are very narrow, coppering the bottom would be the right choice, but at the end of the day its the builders choice. Good luck with the build nice to see something different.

Hello,
In parallel with Santa Maria, I'd like to start another topic.
It will be a very slow progress. First of all I will need your help (I know I can rely on you).
This model I'd like to do with a great care and accuracy.
Before I do anything I'm not sure of, I will be torturing you with questions
My first question is : what's your opinion on coppering the hull?
And some photos of the stern (I have modified one part - I couldn't resist)

Hello Friends,
Could you help me with my questions about coppering and the diameter of the treenails, please?
If you have any ideas/ information about HMS Pandora, let me know. I'm searching for her in the Internet but anything about her is welcomed

Cheers buddy! Yeah its a fun stage now, when she starts to look like she will when finished. I started adding the stern pieces and galleries a while back, not knowing if it would fit in the end, so its a good feeling to finish them and see that they fit and that I could get the lines I wanted.
Just finished the basic shape of the lower galleries. After they are done, I think Ill do the stern sculptures before starting with the beakhead. That way I dnt have to paint to many at once and keeps the energy in the build.
You can see the weathering effect on the yellow wales. I made running lines like if she had dust on her and it then rained. I tried to make it subtle.
/Matti

Finally the metal parts are finished. I know they are not in the straight line... But I think they look better than suggested by the manufacturer. The are painted. The next project (HMS Pandora) will be done with a blackener amd by me from the very beginning

Hello, some of you may remember me posting this log. The kit was "inherited". My friend gave up and told he had no time to complete her.
I would like to start with the latest photos I have taken. From now on, I will be trying putting more pics for you to show the slow progress of building. I hope you 'll enjoy.

I know you know how to do it, however, for those who don't this is the right post.
I try to blacken the wire using a black paint. The final step was to apply a drop of CA glue.

I'd like to show you the attached sails by Mantua. In fact, they are glossy and disastrous I have decided to change the material. In the pics you can compare the original sheet with a chosen by me.
I had to drawthe size of the sails in pencil onto my material and I started sewing by hand.
Any comments are most welcome (traditionally).

The details are so time-conuming and really demand many skills. You have them and your model is getting better day by day. Do you want to older the wood or to keep it "looking-new"? Cheers, Paweł

Today's progress on dead eyes. I used a black paint to cover the brass wire. I have just ordered a blackening liquid so I hope that the results will be btter than the paint.
I think that I have achieved my goal. The dead eyes are in the line. I tried to tie the ropes carefully looking at the book written by Lennarth Pettersen.
It takes a long time to do it. The whole outlook shows her as if she was a very old vessel. That's my point to show Santa Maria as an old ship.
Here are some pics. Enjoy
Feel free to comment. I'd like to make this bulding log alive. Help me do this please.
