Holy Crap..... that fast!!!!!!!!!!!!And SOOO good too! Ollie ...you got the nack!
This era either had a rail around the gunwales with a gap for the oars to use or a kind of triangle with a half moon cut at the back to take the oar's lever action
with the pull Kind of pointy end pointing towards the bow that size boat would take 2 per side remember "officers in the stern" Hope that's a help.

Thanks so much gang. Really happy with the way the baby is coming along. Few bits of ca to clean up.
. Unlike the internet which is a disaster, our network is pretty atrocious. Lots of corrosion from the high rainfall I think.. Gonna be a waiting game..
Wondering about oarlocks.. What suits this era? Grooves through cap rail or.pins..??
Anything else you think I should add? Tie points etc.. Will make some oars... Any inspirations welcome.. Many regards ollie

Ok Then Am Happy To Report Margin Planking Is Sized (Width Wise)
I used Nigel's suggestion (to invert the point of a compass, and set the compass to the required width, 6mm in my case, and using the over sized, but shaped to the bulwarks, margin plank slide the compass along the bulwark side of each plank, there were 5 per side for me, this draws a matching curve along the planks. Then cut/file/sand the planks to this drawn line.
Next up.. prepare the individual planks for Scarfing and finish sanding them. There is plenty of overlap on each plank for this process.
Then 'caulk' the scarf joins and set them in place on the deck. Simples !!!
BTW I did the Transom margin planks as per Kesters suggestion & filled in the awkward area between Bulwarks and Transom Frames as mentioned by Nigel.. WooHoo loads of progress eh? and I only needed 2 large measures of Whiskey afterwards!! Just Kidding, I actually enjoyed doing it

Ollie Guns the mounting there of Smaller guns 12 lb or below had 5 ringbolts w/iron rings attached 2 on either side 1 directly above the other the lower one took the preventer or recoil rope the upper took the run-up tackle The last was above the port in the middle to which the mouth of the gun was tied when not in use to prevent movement at sea. there is also one more affixed to the deck directly behind the gun for the practice firing usually far enough to bring the gun to full inboard recoil..... l learned that aboard the Connie. Hope it helps!

I had a good day.. Made up some hand made eye bolts first thing this morning. Good to get a grip on a technique.. This was As I had run out of kit one's for whatever reason...
I have added more rings to canons. I use a lamp to help dry things. The humidity here is near 100%..
You may notice a sneak peek at something I'm working at slowly..

I forgot to show you all what I did with rudder hinges on copper side.. I decided just to paint them with some tamiya metal paint, happy with the finish..
For a while there I wasn't too sure about my decision to do two different finishes on my hull, but now sometimes she sits facing one way for a week or so and I flip her around and feel very satisfied.. I.like both sides equally..
almost.
