  1. My brother just came back from a trip to Holland to visit with family. Whilst there picked up for me 17th Century Dutch merchant Ships by Ab Hovig. Very nice too only problem is there was no plans kit as stated attached, Question then is How can I obtain these? The Book was purchased from the bookstore in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. What to do?

  2. There is/was a special interest book titled Radio Control in Model Boats 4th ed by John Cundell. Published by

    "Special Interest Model Books ltd"

    PO Box 327 Poole Dorset

    BH15 2RG.

    ISBN 978-1-85486-231-0

The book itself is dated published in 1988

  3. Sounds like a plan man. it looks like the only detail we have to go on is the scale given that the recommended plywood thickness is 3/16" which works out to 1:75 or impirial 1:72. Assuming a keel width of 12". In this instance we are really working ar**e about face. Usually a set of drawings is made from which all things are measurable. In our case we have the finish shape size allready presented. But as you said this one is has not been defined which gives us a whole heap of latitude. Any ideas?

  4. What I will probably wind up doing is have the bottom that is from the lower gun deck down solid, ie put in filler pieces between the frames and file/sand to shape before planking.  Thats the plan of attack at this stage. Currently it is very hard to get acceptable ply at either 3 or 4.5mm thats from my local hardware vendor. Methinks will have to go further afield.

  5. Nice build so far mate, but before you get too far check out the section behind the figure head the cut outs you have are in fact, what the head timbers would look like in a vertical cross section, check this against the master drawing.  I also want to build this and have the same drawings, probably got this from the same place as you did. Just my 2 cents worth.
