Hans, that would be great, but I´ve instead got some coming. As for the dishes, think I´ll have to find a way to ship them - or inviting you to dinner in Brazil someday

Hey all u guys and gals. As I´ve disapeared and proly u thought I had give up, here I´m to prove I´m alive and kicking!

Bout my junk - there are no updates. I´m looking for the right sailcloth for her sails, and still got nothing. As I moved again and again and again in the last two years, had little time to search for it or even get back to the shipyard. I´m gettint to it now, though, to start a new project and retake this one in particular - since it´s on the rigging already and I do need to finish this one (and all the others too).

Aside my luck with electronics, all is fine! This week I´ll move my workbench from a room to another so my dogs stop breaking things (they´ve already put down my builds two times - the Caravel will need some repairs). Health is good, finally - but I´m unemployed right now (working on some side projects though), which means I have some spare time to build ships. Always love the receptiveness you show. Ty for all your care.

Thank you all, very much. I´ve been working on my sails but, all for the bad, have no camera to take them pictures. My cellphone is broken, my camera missing, my tablet died and for now, all I can do is give some words about how it is going.

I´ve refused the kit´s sailcloth. Was thinking to use something more robust regarding the fabric, but changed my mind. Now I´m sewing some cloth from a new year´s unused dress. Can´t say, yet, if I´ll keep that, but, for the time being, seems pretty good.

Hope to have a new cellphone soon, with a nice camera, so I can show you the results.

    Bye ^^

So, I took some pictures from my latest efforts. Masts are rigged and waiting for sails. Main mast is a little bit too tensioned, as you can see. I don´t know if with sail on it will bring it to it´s rightful position or if I should release some tension before installing the sail - my fear is to let it go and have loose ropes on my model. Would be great to have some opinions in that.

There are some few additions beyond sails, as the eyes on front rails and the painting on stern (I´ll make it as the kit´s decal don´t fit in my ship).

Frank, thank you! I was always thinking on put her outside and take some pictures, but let it pass. Daylight contributes a lot to details.

Sam, that´s my backyard. Usually ppl paint it all from time to time (their houses, I mean) but I do like the green/aged concrete contrast - crude concrete with no plaster taunts me, too.   Ty!

    Grant, thanks for visiting!!

Pops, they look gorgeous even without sails, but when I finish rigging she´ll really show what junks are famous for. Thanks!

Michael, that´s something I trying to reach, a natural oldish look, to hear (read) it from someone else is a great compliment. Thank you vm!

Joe, my many thanks. I´m enjoying both research and building - but it seems everyone does enjoy the same. Part of the craft, I would say.

    Ulises, obrigada, amigo.

Mark, I would take gnomes, elves and trolls with the same hospitality - and if they want some churrasco (brazilian barbecue), have some churrascarias really close to home (there are at least 10 in my city, lol). :P :P

Wayne, thank you. Only thing I want from the gnomes is help with the ropes, all types of gnomes accepted.

Jud, as my junk is an "elitist" one, no squids to dry on her. The dignitary traveling in the ship wouldn´t be pleased by such an insolence, it seems. I would love to build a diorama, though, with some traders and fishers, drying squids and fishes, nets all around. Have found some pictures of something like that:

(don´t have the credits for it, but it´s so great a model)

Hans, I know it´s a bit preposterous to say "my ship is accurate" when there are no plans, more than 500 years separating me from my subject and lots of misinterpretation along the centuries. I´m building a ship over a base (the kit) and texts from monographs and books - actually, I´ve never seen a junk. I see all my efforts as a mean to better understand what I´m doing and to exercise both researching skills and ship modeling skills.
