Wahka_est Posted August 16, 2020 #1 Posted August 16, 2020 Hi Whats the best way to paint eyelets? Acrylic paints with brush tend to come off. I read that email paints should do the trick? Also tried spray paint Mantua one but that came off really easy. Brass black is something i cant get to work. So i would prefer painting. Is investment into spray paints now a thing maybe? Please share your experience.
Duanelaker Posted August 17, 2020 #2 Posted August 17, 2020 i'm sure you will get better responses from more experience people, but i believe cleaning the fittings prior no matter what you use is the most important thing. i assume you are talking about brass eyelets...i'm surprised the brass black isn't working, i had luck cleaning with vinegar, and doing 2 or 3 dips in the brass black. There are many good threads on blackening. Maybe try sanding them lightly so the paint has something to stick to? Again, i have faith someone else will lead you in a better direction.
