The main mast on my Bluenose requires a "galvanized sheet metal" wrap. I have some thin aluminum but how to make it look galvanized?

Any tips or clues would be appreciated.

Take a look at the model railroad paints. Many boxcars have/had galvanized roofs. I like a shade called SP lettering gray. It's a gray with bluish tinge. Look thru the paint racks for a shade you can use. You may have to paint your aluminum with a flat clear to get paints to stick to the aluminum.

Testors have a range 'Model Master Metalizer Lacquer Paints' which I've heard are quite good, sorry can't speak from personal experience, perhaps there's a colour there that might suite.

I used a spray product called Dullcoat to make aluminum tape look like zinc, worked fine.
