It is a matter of if I knew then what I know now, I'd have done it a bit differently. However, my efforts likely not go as far as you are going here. You do spark ideas. The kit has many shortcomings but it does have the potential to build into a pretty nice representation of the ship. So much more could be done than I'm doing. (I'm sanded the grain down on every part that has it as well). Once painted I ran a piece of worn out 320 grit sandpaper over it. The pic is of the lower foremast with spar pole and one run of ratline. As I mentioned previously I am holding off on the lower ratlines till I have some of the running rigging finished. I sanded off the moulded paneling from the walls and made new paneling from strips of styrene. I can't remember why I did that now but I must of had a reason...haha. They're just sitting in place temporarily of course. I was wondering how you attached the deadeyes securely to the channels and how you fastened the channel to the hull so that they stay put.
