Planking and planking and planking.
Big pieces are done. It needs filler planks now.

The instructions lack in this area. It shows the other side very well. This side is ‘tad da, planked’. It all gets painted black so not a big deal.

After a long planking effort it’s finally starting to take shape with details.

Everything has to come together almost perfect for the rear removable section to fit. One picture shows what needs done to fit the top of the removable part. I fiddled with this to get it all to fit glued it together while fitting it so it would fit well. So far so good.

The rear piece has no support to hold it in place. Not sure what to do about that just yet. It fits it but has no way to hold it in or from sagging down. Esp with all the extra metal weight it will get.

I found out today these double arrow mean, don’t glue. This is a friction fit. Good thing my glue wasn’t great, I cracked it out and it’s now, not glued.

I’m getting frustrated with parts of this kit. I intend to finish it even if it’s not perfect. It’s smiling at me….

You can check the occre build video on youtube to see how the builder did the rear piece.

It shows nothing about supporting the assy. If you notice they very carefully place it and don’t touch it again. I’ve got some ideas.

Ah yes,  I find that there are applications where super glue is ideally suited.  The medium 'gap filling' find is my 'go-to', since the thin variety wants to go EVERYWHERE ... including my fingers.  Metal to wood or other dissimilar material joins (especially where there there is enough bearing surface) works with super glue, although very smooth flat metal needs a little roughening to give more 'tooth' for a better grip - as the super glue doesn't penetrate non-porous materials.

The 'accelerator'  (kicker) is also a boon, but I avoid spraying directly ... but into a small glass dipping sauce container.  One side of the open dish is propped up on a piece of scrap wood so there is a little 'pool' of accelerant in the bottom.  Then once super glue is applied and the item positioned, a small plastic dabber (the end of a detail brush will do) is dipped into the pool of accelerant then touched to the edge of the item to be fixed in position.  The thin accelerator 'wicks' onto the mating surfaces and 'kicks' the curing reaction to permit quick assembly of other items.

A little goes a long way, and the supply of accelerator in the dish will stay for 1 - 2 hours as it is slow to evaporate.

The aft balcony needs its clear windows installed. All hull parts are installed, complete thru stage P.

it’s easier and harder than it looks. It’s far from perfect but it’s a run out ghost ship, so I’m not looking for being perfect.

The next step for the hull is full black paint. One tiny container of black paint and one big boat. I bought extra of the full paint set, just in case.

I'm following the instructions and the videos closely. No two builds will be the same that’s for sure.

I started this ship because I wanted to build a bigger project. Today I learn big ships can have little boat projects inside them.

Ugh. 20 cannons. I’m avoiding hull painting to make cannons, I might go paint lol.

This kit has a lot of little parts remaining.

This could take a while to get it all black, lots of surface area. I found out I'm short a few more parts. Intermission while I wait for parts to continue.

Yep, it’s on the list, I transitioned to the Bluenose because I was ready for it. I almost have to much I don’t know which to work on lol. I’ll get back to this one soon enough. Follow the build to see when that happens!
