I don’t know if somebody ran into this problem before.

But here we go.
I recently wanted to change the blade height and discovered that it was not moving at all.

Well, make a long story short, it disconnected the saw and took the saw blade off. After that I turned the saw on it back to check what was wrong. Apparently the fine saw dust got somehow in the thread and blocked the grub screw from turning. It was so tight I had to use vise grip pliers to move it.

After dismantling the whole thing and cleaned and lubricated it properly it worked as advertised again.

The tools I used:

- 11/16 & 7/16 wrench for removing the blade

- vise grip pliers

- 5/64 Allen wrench for removing the ball-joint coupling

- 1/4-28 tap

- WD-40

- brush

And what do we learn out of this episode? Clean your tools from time to time!

Happy modeling,

Hermann

As a gauge for how relentless this accumulation can be, do you have a serious shop vac pulling in the sawdust whenever the saw is running?
