Speaking for myself, I think it's a real treat to watch this historic warship being modeled twice on our site by very competent builders -- one model in peacetime colors and the other in her wartime gray.

Happy New Year Herby, model is coming on a treat, feels good at this stage doesn’t it, just that feeling of it’s about there 😂 You can certainly see the difference on the port propeller after profiling it, feel it’s a shame Pontos don’t do a better quality prop or resin parts, think they could raise their standards in this department, the rest of their set is quality. Just been looking at Jolles build log as well, another treat 👍 building these Mikasa ships are some amount of work for sure. Doing great job, keep the posts coming 🤛

Still dazzled by all the Newyearsresolutions, I present the next phase of my build:

 

Collecting the final batch of accessories and preparing them for painting.

 

- Stern walkway and bridge lifebuoys;

 

- Booms, Davits and hull mounted lifebuoys;

 

- and the fancy stairs (all soldered up).
