Hi! I have a two part question. I am on the final planking of my HMB Endeavour. I have planked it past the thick stuff down towards the curve of the lower hull. Now I have to plank to the keel. I have several photos on planking and the way Corel suggests on their plans and others including the way it was planked for the replica. I need some advice as to how to proceed. Second I would like to send you some pictures to show where I am at this point. I have an iPhone 15 and a digital camera. What are your recommendations?

If I understand your description and question - plank from the garboard up. Not down to the garboard. Typically, the laying of the garboard will have a direct effect on how all the upper strakes will lay.

There are a few MSW posts on how to lay the garboard. The success of that will have an impact on the rest of any hull planking.

Serpe,

Take photos with your phone or camera and then transfer them to your computer somewhere you can find them. You may be able to connect the phone or camera to the computer with a USB cable and then access the pictures directly.

When you start a comment on the Forum you will see the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files" message at the bottom of the window. If you have the forum window and the file location window both open you can just drag the files from the computer to the Forum window. Or you can use the "Choose files" option (click on it) to open the computer's files folders, select the folder, and then select the pictures.

Either method will open thumbnail images of you pictures below the comments dialog box. First position the cursor where you want to place a picture in your comments. Then click on the thumbnail of the photo. This will place the picture into your comments.

You can then edit the pictures by double clicking on the picture. You can resize the image and select "left justified" if you want. If you reduce the width of the photo and select "left justified" you can then type test to the right of the photo. Otherwise with no justification your text will go above or below the picture.

You probably don't have to copy photos to your computer before uploading here. If you have a browser on your smart phone you can just post from your phone and upload photos. If you don't like typing long entries from your phone, you can still upload your photos to a post from your phone and then hop on your computer and edit your post to add more text from your regular keyboard. I always upload photos from my phone.

I only just discovered that when you upload photos on an iphone there's a way to select what size you want to upload (I've been uploading the full size from my iPhone and they were probably too big) - there's an options button in the corner of where you upload photos from your phone and you can select full size, large, medium, small.

I would apply the finishing wood last.  That way it will cover up any dings that occur along the way.
