Why do you think this plank on frame Endeavor kit is only 2 star.

Whilst this resin hull Endeavor is three star.

Must say I'm quite confused! Especially as I've slowly been coming round to the idea that perhaps a resin hull would be better for a first build as it's easier! Any thoughts much appreciated. I should add that whilst I like the look of the Endeavor there are other resin hull Yachts that are only two star...

I think there are a variety of things that may affect difficulty rating such as the number of masts, level of detail, how many parts will need to be scratch built, etc.. Its hard to say what would determine the difficulty level of the two kits without knowing more about them. Here is cornwalls description of each level.

There's two articles here: http://modelshipworldforum.com/ship-model-plans-and-research.php   The one on "What to Expect" and the other is "Kit Selection" that might also be some help.

Maybe the sails on the plank on frame are already stitched and detailed while the others you have to sew and cut from a sheet? That could be a star in itself!
