I’m particularly interested because I have the same kit from Bluejacket and it’s up next when I get done with the Flying Fish.

I'm debating lightly weathering DD227 with either pigment or washes to bring out details. Nuln oil has wreaked havoc on one deck gun. Any sugggestions on something more workable? 🙃

I finally got ahold of DD227's actual plans from NARA... the downside, of course, is that I can no longer hide behind "looks right". 

 

The galley deckhouse is being completely rebuilt amidst a lot of profanity. The pieces in the kit are both too tall and not long enough to match the galley deckhouses of the DDs built by William Cramp & Sons.
