Got the pilot house installed along with the brass railings.

You can see how I swapped corrugated metal (well weathered) for the supplied brass.

Still getting a feeling for how tall i want the funnel to be and how to detail it.

I really was not up to building the skylight as prescribed. Instead i used leftovers from omissions on the pilot house to build a skylight somewhat different from what history remembers🙄.

Similar changes with the lifeboat chocks.

Overall view

A new crew member is busy at work on the bow as installation of the bitt is completed.

An additional crew member has joined her on the upper deck. It appears that the forward mast has been delivered and they are waiting for additional personal to haul it into position.

That getting close to done feeling....

There's still much left to do to finish the Seguin. I have a bunch of details coming in from Harbor Models... but I'm already getting that "I know this will over soon feeling."

I know that sounds weird, but it always happens to me, especially at the end of a long build. The Seguin was a fairly quick project, I was downright depressed when the Queen Mary was completed. (It spanned over 30 years)

I know finishing is good as there is always the next build but I still feel like its the end of time well spent with an ol' friend (maybe it is?).

Well, its not over yet.

Much to do before this one is called done.

Time to glue the masts down.

😇

A couple of pics as I enter the home stretch.PXL_20260110_021819818.thumb.jpg.351c7031ffe49c9489e6c22889f40f23.jpg

The "modified" skylight is fixed in position. Funnel detailing is ongoing. Lifeboat is fixed. Not sure about lifeboat rigging. Tiny pulleys and me don't mix.

On the stern the cable boxes are in. Can someone tell me what they were for? A few barrels from Hobby Lobby added for fun. I added a "metal" plate, similar to the funnel base for some additional interest. Life rings are left overs from something.

On the bow, ice chest is ready to cool some beverages.

Ordered some additional details from Seaport model works last night.

After they arrive, we are in the short stacks...

Night all.

Coming into the short stacks....

Here's the final goodies from Seaport. Crew is mostly finished and ready to man (and woman) their positions.

I picked up this stair stack organizer at $ General for seven bucks. Great paint organizer.

The captain is looking over the recently installed funnel.

Above him, the starboard side running light is in position waiting for completion.

On the aft end you can see that the builder decided to add additional railings which were not found in the original plans. Also an additional ladder was installed on the starboard side. There will be another added to the port side.

In this overall shot, the aft starboard bumper is visible as are the added stern railings. The builder was not happy with that installation and is looking to replace them with brass, in keeping with the rest of the ship.

The Seguin was completed today. With the exceptions of a few odds and ends Id say she is done. Its obviously a boat built by someone who is a model rail roader, it does not have the attention to detail that other builders of the same kit have so skillfully put into their models. However, it suits me and even though I made a few creative changes, I think it is still true enough to the real ship that anyone who "knows" the Seguin will recognize it, even if it raises an eyebrow or two.

I do want to thank both Rod and Tim for documenting their Seguin builds and providing the needed information and inspiration to get me through my build. Also, a big thank you to everyone else who took the time to peek at my photos and hit the like button, smiley face or write an encouraging comment. Thank you all!

Here are way to many pictures of the finished product.

My wife has gratefully offered me a wall in the dinning room that a shelf can be mounted. The idea is that it will be changing display of models so that I can show off my builds over time.

Thanks Everyone!

Phil
