The picture I've attached isn't that clear, but you can see it's a copper colour, and has a clover-shaped head. It's an Amati kit and I've bought these Amati hinges from a couple different places (which looks the right part from the picture), but what I get is what's in the second picture. It looks to me like a few strokes of a round file on the hinges in the second picture would give you the correct "shape" and from the second picture it looks like the "new" hinges might age to the right color. NMBROOK Posted August 30, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 30, 2014 Antony is spot on!The hinge on your model is a standard Amati fitting,along with the door frame.The only difference may occur is that your hinge has been stamped out and the ones you have bought are photo etched.There is a possibility that Amati has changed their manufacturing technique for this fitting.I would call or email Cornwall Model Boats first and ask them about the first two hinges listed on Antony's linked page.The pictures are from Amati's fittings catalogue and they haven't changed them in many years. I bought from there and from agesofsail.com. Maybe Amati doesn't make them like the one I got in my kit anymore, which sucks because I'll always be missing a hinge. I'm pretty new here but how old is the hinge in the 1st picture? Just throwing it out there. I bought the kit maybe ten years ago. I guess I could try filing it, but I don't like the gold colour at all.
