  1. Not a bad idea but where do you put two batteries? I had enough trouble fitting one under the driving seat.
  2. Danny, an irrelevant question not about ships, do you reckon £150 is a good price to pay for the Haswega Sopwith ?
  3. Thanks Danny, the colours according to the box (!!!!!) are the traditional ones for that wagon.
  4. Danny, I have finished my Conestoga Wagon so I hope you don't mind if I pinch a space on your log to show the finished article.
  5. Yes, I see they do some but also a company called Antics Online that do all the model airways planes.
  6. Eddie, Danny, I have found some suppliers of model airways kits in the UK. The Sopwith Camel looks good so I will have to start saving up. Many thanks both for the tips.
  7. Nothing on ebay at the moment Danny but I tend to check it every day - sad person that I am!! I will check out Model expo Eddie but at the moment, with the exchange rate as it is and the sheer cost of getting anything shipped from the States probably make it a no go. Hope you had fun checking out my build logs and thanks for all the kind comments.
  8. I had a problem with the AL doors as well Bug but, we got there in the end!! Smashing work Danny, the upholstery is looking good. Why did you decide not to cover everything? I suspect the supplied material was too thick ?
  9. I have been thinking about doing a plane but I have been having difficulty in finding a wooden one. I used to scratch build planes in my distant mis-spent youth and I don't want to make plastic ones. About the only kit I have seen is from Amati - pricey though!
  10. I thought you might like to see how I have been getting on.
  11. That's what I did. I put the switch on the panel in the box under the drivers seat. It doesn't show too much.
  12. Looking really nice Danny. Did you hand paint or use an air brush? Your seat sanding looks like a good job, boring but good. At least you don't have to put millions of nails in to simulate buttoning. Now that was fun!
  13. Hey there, I am watching and thanks again for letting me know about your log. My word you certainly have some kit in your workshop!! I am quite envious.
  14. To pop in my six penny worth Occre trams are really good, the two horse drawn carriages not so good.
  15. Oops, that reply got mixed up somehow. The 'as if' bit was meant to convey that there is no way that Dan wouldn't make the interior gorgeous as well.
  16. I agree with that. For my part I used both vinyl leathercloth and real leather, much better.
  17. Nice job! I am just the same, can't wait to see what it looks like with the wheels on.
  18. Danny, the wagon I am building is the Conestoga wagon from Model Trailways. It really is a very odd chassis, as they say in the instructions it is like two single axle chassis bolted together. I don't want to steal your log but just a couple of pictures of the finished chassis for your interest.
  19. I thought I would compete and show you a couple of pictures of my latest chassis!
  20. I echo the sentiment Danny, good to see you back. You may know stagecoaches are a favourite of mine. I have done both the AL version and the Amati which looks more like yours. I didn't know we could do logs except for boats but I will follow yours with great interest.
  21. Thank you all for your kind comments. Brian, I decided to do wooden ratlines mostly out of laziness as I thought I would make a hash of thread ones having only two knots. As to what is next I am not sure. Either a Chinese junk or a Roman bireme or I still have a wagon to do in my stash. Once I decide I will put a note on here before starting a new log.
  22. The paint had dried so it was time to put on all the bits and pieces and now she is finished. I am quite pleased with the end result and I am glad that although I painted the hull I left the superstructure wooden. I made a couple of concessions. Firstly the name on the boat is 'Our Sea' which is the translation of 'Mare Nostrum' from the Latin and the second was to commandeer the vessel and let her fly the Red Ensign. I hope you like her.
  23. I assume from your note that you have tried it in the bath !! She looks brilliant, well done indeed Sir !
