    Rich,
She makes a great TV stand. .
I know what you mean about commenting, when work gets busy sometimes all there is time for is a "like" to let people know you stopped in.

Finally completed the assembly of the 30 x 12 pound cannons tonight. Just got to finish the painting of the trunnion brackets and red rim on the cannons before I start the rigging phase of the 10 visible carriage assemblies

I have provided some pictures of the gun carriage assembly line and then some pictures of the completed assemblies.

I also bought a helping hand tool today as I think this will help when I start to rig the cannon rigging blocks. This new tool can be seen in some of the photos below.

Thanks Rich, I really want to get these complete and on the ship but work has been interfering.

Sunday I ordered some single blocks from Chucks Siren company. Tuesday I go on line to see if I have an estimated ship date, in my inbox is an email that they shipped already! They were in my mail box yesterday. Thanks Chuck!!!!

They look good too. THe smaller 3.5mm are Chucks and the larger 6mm are Constructo supplied I am almost wondering if I should have gone with 4mm, these look like a challenge. Guess I am going to find out.

This is all I have managed to do this week, Mullions for the lites and Stiles and Rails for the frames. The outer frames are a bit thick still and will get paired down with a chisel or mini plane. The veneer I plan on using on the columns will hide more of the thickness. I just wanted something a bit stronger to work with. I used styrene to make a jig to hold everything together and keep my horizontal mullions in line. Seems to be working so far....... Back off Murphy!!!!

    Hello Everyone...

I have finally made it back to the work bench in the dry dock building and am happy to say I have begun to work on Victory again.  I maade a change in plans and have decided to build the strop assemblies for the fore and main lower yards.  It is more tedius than I thought so after building one of the four assemblies required I have decided to call it a day.  Here are some pictures.

    Good to be back.
    Jerry

P.S. I fiished the three other strop assemblies this morning so we are ready to rig the Fore yard and main yard cluelines, sheets and tacks.  See last photo

Over the last few weeks I have been making a few of the small boats, Barge + Cutter due to my building works.

These have been a little tough, due to the size, the planking was painful, more so the amount of time my fingers need to be cut off,, oops.

With Lining the Gun ports I have taken advices given and battened be hind with 3.2x3.2mm Balsa strip, ( its the smallest size the model shop had)  but I think the right size for this task, worked well Lining with the 1x6mm stips I have spend the best part of about 5hours do the port side lower gun port. I have filled a few that i think looked a little out of place, but happy with them. No rushing sat there watching Tv and a Movie...

After a 2 week break I'm back in the shipyard and have started the mass production of 30 x 12 pounder cannons, 10 more basic cannon frames to assemble, then comes the painting and further assembly and rigging (for a select few cannons).

The time consuming aspect is the removal and filing of each part from the 2mm walnut strip

    The fun stuff.
Small details that were left unfinished earlier.  The chain from the spectacle plate acted to  secure the rudder when it was unshipped as well as provide another method for emergency steering.  The end was left free to avoid interference with the gun port lids.

A hook connecting the chain with the line (made from an eyelet).

    Lashing the hook

28 G. dark annealed wire through a hole in the channel, to allow seizing the line at the eye formed in the wire, and to act as a messenger to pull the line up to the channel.

Crossjack Yard Brace.  Braces arrise from the aft main shroud, pass through the opposite yard block and return to the block on the shroud before leading to the pinrail. Note the yards cross each other, seen better in the second photo.

    This completes the braces.

    Cheers, Gil

    HI all,
I have added the Wales (Pic to follow), over the last few days which I found at time hard, well the lineament of the first one, I have how ever, Stand up and say i made a mistake, I used 1x4mm for the upper Wales, For what ever reason I had read it but the time i came to them forgot it should be 1x3.5mm,, So this had to be cut out and re done.  Im happy with it now.

I now need to start lining the lower gun ports.. Not a task I'm looking forward to....
