  1. At this moment I have finished also the second pedestal. Here you can see several pics from modelling its back side and final result with all my tools I use for this work.
  2. Hello dear Michael, thank you for your kind words, they are much appreciated. Yes, it is true, I usually sleep about 4 hours per night, only rarely can sleep more. I have problems with sleeping, so often work or study during nights. Best regards
  3. rpeteru: Thank you, I am really honored reading your words. I continue with modelling front pedestal, here are some pics from process and first half after baking: Have a great time and enjoy the pics. Best regards
  4. L.H. : Thank you for your praise and comment. Yes, that´s a good question - the source and a part of el. cables will be hidden behind nameplate. The rest of elektrical cables will be placed under the keel, there are not usually much visible also on my previous models. Kind regards
  5. Thank you dear friends, I appreciate your feedback a lot. I am pleased you enjoy the pics and shots from process. To Bob Cleek: Well, I have some offers of cooperation from model producers, so it is possible that my sculptures and various accessories will be also available for modellers. Meanwhile, there are two main problems - all my sculptures and ornaments are adapted on the specific model and a scale I make. And it is also time-consuming a lot and nobody in our country is able to pay adequately for such hand work. For example I spent 15 hours creating this pedestal. ******************************* The surface was covered with velvet at the points of contact with the model to prevent abrasion and achieve better stabilize. The model is already stable enough on this single rear pedestal so it was safe to throw out the auxiliary supports from the center. Best regards
  6. Dear friends, I am very grateful for your comments and support and do appreciate it a lot. Your praise means a lot for me, dear Albert, thank you very much. You are welcome. And BTW, will you also take part in that Swimsuit Edition on MSW?😎 You are right, this kind of modeling clay does not change when baked at all. This is one of its advantages I like. I am very honored and pleased you find inspiration in my work. I am also looking forward to your gorgeous work and great craftsmanship. In fact it was quite difficult to achieve a good symmetry. Some parts I had to make again or correct. Thank you dear Michael, and also the best to you and your family. That was a small tourist boat on which we sailed to watch dolphins and sunset on vacation. Here are some pics: https://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=177&t=110763&start=570#p2136552 Thank you Rob, I am pleased you like my work. Well, I do not have experience with "Sculptamold" so cannot compare. The clay I use is made in our country. It is called "modelit"or "modurit". https://www.top-obaly.cz/produkt/modelovaci-hmota?gclid=Cj0KCQiAg_HhBRDNARIsAGHLV517ab3Wioqn5FWVfMxuxvfWpfaSwCPDVPIN0tXJS25g0FQBGNBfCZYaAl6_EALw_wcB#product-modelit-500-gramu The clay does not change during hardening at all. Only its white colour gets tan - depending on temperature and length of baking. All my sculptures are created individually, I prefer unique results. In addition, the front and rear pedestals are different in the shape. The front one is lower. ********************************************* I have already finished rear pedestal and here are some pics from process and final result. So enjoy them. Making back side, reinforcement added: Before hardening: After baking in the oven (temperature 120-130°C, baked about 40 minutes): The pedestal (still warm) during final shaping according to the hull planking: The final result after gilding - I used TS-21 Gold Tamiya spray.
  7. Well, even this is quite possible, cause i'm a very good swimmer and enjoy diving.😎 And here is a pedestal after hardening (in the oven at a temperature of about 130 ° C). I will create back side with reinforcement tomorrow and bring more pics from process.
  8. Thank you Druxey and Francis. Oh yes, sea is my "second home" and I feel very happy there. It is possible that my ancestors were sailors or pirates, because it has attracted me to the sea and ships from my childhood.😄 And here is almost finished one side of the rear pedestal:
  9. Thank you Mark, Druxey and Piet for your feedback and support, I appreciate your words a lot. I have just started making rear support, it is much more difficult than I have expected, but step by step I will manage it. Here are first pics from process, you can also see there all my tools I use for modelling sculptures from clay ( except the main ones - my hands of course....). The dolphin supports will be stylized according to period models from museums. BTW, I love dolphins and I have had an opportunity to cuddle and swim with them several times. I will never forget such amazing enjoyment. Best regards
  10. I am always in awe watching your new pics. Incredible workmanship, dear Amalio. Kind regards
  11. And here is the beginning of making pedestals - I have prepared accurate card templates and now I will shape them from modelling clay. The reinforcement will be also necessary, cause the model is quite heavy. Look forward to my tutorial that I'm going to share with you. Kind regards
  12. To Wiktor.L: I used paper/card covered with special vinyl foils (my own technique) that allows to achieve wooden look. Only few parts are wooden. Here you can see it:
  13. Hello dear friends, I am very pleased you like my work and thank you for your support and "likes". That is really honour for me. Thank you Kevin, and I wish also the best to you and your family. Hi Rob, I am glad you like my modification. It is not easy to build the model without exact plans and drawings. And moreover I do not have a good estimate for the right position or proportions so I have to correct some errors time from time... Thank you, dear friends. I promise, I'll be more careful next time. I feel better now and soon I will go on again with sculpting. And are you sure, you are courageous enough? 😉 Cause I am really very vivacious and as I have already written - a pretty devil with adventurous nature: Only my husband is able to tame me.😄 And I'm going to be more careful on my hands next time, I promise. ****************************************************************** I am going to create a pedestal - there will be dolphins or fish sculptures under the huge hull and I would like to make them according to period models. Here are some commercial products; few years ago I made these sculptures of "Pegasus" on the pedestal for Sovereign of the Seas: Now I am inspired, for example, by the period model of the Saint Michael: Today it was sunny day and I managed to take some nice pictures of the bow decoration, so youcan also enjoy them. The sculptures will be modificated by weathering to achieve more natural look. Best regards
  14. Hello dear friends, thank you very much for your care and wishes, it is already better. I even managed to modify gunports on the stern yesterday to be at the right position and I made them closed. My hands still pain, but soon I may be able to do fine work as well. Best regards
  15. Hello Druxey, do not worry, it's not serious, I just have a wounded hands and some bruises after a fall. It is a terrible winter weather in our country now and I had bad luck. Now I can take some time for studying information about real ships and thinking how to apply them and make the most realistic model as possible. I enjoy education and possibility to know more about real ships. Kind regards
  16. Thank you for your comments a support, dear friends. Hello Druxey and Piet, I am pleased, you like my work. It is not finished yet, I am going to add there several other things. Hello Dave, Well, I have never had problems with LED in models, but I always test lighting for a longer time than definitely close the decks. I want to be sure that it will work reliably. I also use LED lighting in real cars and there were sometimes problems (current shocks, overvoltage) , so I use more efficient resistors to prevent it. My dog-helper is already O.K., unfortunately I cannot continue with this fine work and tiny details now because of my accident. Hope I'll be all right soon. Best regards
  17. And here is the look through the windows: Oh, I have almost forgotten - here is one of my helpers - sometimes is very tired and sleepy. I can't understand why?😄 Enjoy the pics and have a great time. Best regards
  18. Hello dear friends, thank you all very much for your comments and kind words, I am pleased you like my work. And also thank you for your interest to be in my crew, that is a great honour for me. Hi Denis, I am flattered, but nobody is perfect, there are plenty of things on my work, I would like to improve. I love to create beauty and realism in details. Hello Siggi, that is fantastic and very inspirational masterpiece, thank you for sharing the links. *************************************************************************************************** I am trying to make the Royal Katherine model in a realistic look as much as possible so it will also related to all crew members. I'll make portraits of faces according to real people. All sailors will be dressed in period clothes, and officers will have wigs on their heads. As I have already mentioned, I cooperate with the top expert on the history and construction of real ships and experienced naval captain - Kpt.KL. His advice are priceless for many people and I am very grateful for his professional help with my projects and possibilty to improve knowledge about real ships and everything around them. Here are some of Kpt.KL posts in Czech forum, where you can find plenty of professional information about weapons, period clothes and sailors that I am going to aplicate on my model. You can use translator to understand, but I am sure, the following posts will be very beneficial and educational to you as well. https://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=177&t=110763&start=780#p2179766 https://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=177&t=110763&start=780#p2179826 https://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=177&t=110763&start=795#p2180373 https://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=177&t=110763&start=795#p2180389 https://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=177&t=110763&start=795#p2180442 I have decided to make all weapons again and much better to achieve more realistic appearance according to Captain´s advice. There were created for example these types of weapons: smallsword, spadroon, hanger/cuttoe, broadsword, rapier, flintlock muskets, flintlock/doglock pistols etc. And here is the result. One of the version how to place the weapons on panels during making decision.... Final solution: And here you can see all pieces in the great cabin:
  19. Hello dear friends, I do appreciate your comments a lot and thank you very much for your support and kind words. Hello Rob, you are right with effect of LED lighting; here are some current pics from great cabin illuminated only with LEDs inside. In my opinion, this looks more realistic and natural. Hello Piet, I am pleased you like my work and also wish you and your family all the best in 2019. Have great time. Hello G.L., Thank you for your kind words. I have already done crew members according to portraits of real people on my previous ships and I would like to continue with this tradition also on Royal Katherine. For example here is the crew on yacht Royal Caroline (card model from scratch) in a scale 1/40. On the last picture it´s me.😊 If you wish to be there, you can send me your photo through PM and I will try to imitate your face in one of the sailors. During next months I will start to make first crew members. I will be pleased to have my friends from MSW on board. Best regards
  20. Luponero: Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you like my work. No problem, druxey. If you wish, you can belong to my crew on the Royal Katherine and also visit this great cabin. There will be plenty of seamen on the model and I am going to create them according to real people I know. I cannot guarantee the perfect portrait of the face, but I will definitely try to imitate.😉 Best regards, Doris
  21. You are welcome, Mark. It is not a problem to make tiny details and ornaments from this clay although in my opinion the photo etched parts will look better and more professional. Some current pics from the great cabin - furniture is almost finished: Now I will make accessories and new panel with weapons.
  22. At last I have painted the furniture using oil paints and also made a trunk according to items from that period. More information about the trunks is here: https://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=177&t=110763&p=2179361#p2178980 I am also working on the Yacht Corsair ii (plastic kit in a scale 1/130), which you can see alongside the Royal Katerine. Best regards, Doris
  23. Dear friends, thank you very much for your feedback. I am honored reading your praise and appreciate it a lot. Oh yes, I would like to make my model based on real ships from that period. The weapons are shown for example here: I am going to make new and more accurate replicas of weapons for the great cabin so there will be some changes during following days. Hello Mark, Yes, I made them for cannons on the yacht Royal Caroline and Sovereign of the Seas as well. I used my favourite modelling clay (Modurit), the result is not bad, though I believe that photo-etching parts are more precise and look realistic. On the Royal Katherine I am going to make these small emblems from modelling clay as well and hope, they will be much better than my previous. I will bring pics from the tutorial to you. Here are some pics of my card cannons with clay emblems from the yacht Royal Caroline, scale 1/40: Hello Tom, I am flattered. Thank you. I'm sure, there is always opportunity for improvement and that is great motivation for us. I still try to learn a look for new ways, how to do things better. Exactly, I use these resistors to limit the current for the LEDs and dampen lighting. tommay1953 + jct: Thank you dear friends, I am pleased you like my work. Best regards
  24. Thank you Nils, Amalio, Richmond and Rob, your praise and comments mean a lot for me. Thank you all for likes and support as well. I have just finished the panel with swords and other weapons from that period and also tried to make other hand guns according to real replicas. Here is the result, enjoy it:
