Then I took the model off the slipway and stuffed it all into a bottle, applying some silicone sealant to the bottom of the bottle beforehand. I placed the boat's hull diagonally and left it to dry.

I made thinner rigging yarns, made new stay ropes, finished the running rigging, added the tiller, the flag on the bowsprit, painted the underwater part with copper and reassembled the whole structure on the slipway

Hi to all! One more of my small and short projects. You can read the story of this boat HERE So, first, I made the basis of the boat's hull.

Greetings from North Yorkshire, England

Welcome, Niallmhor! Now you're still building ships in bottles? Best Regards! Igor. -
Hi Pete! Thank you! Yeah, it's bamboo. I often use this kind of tree if I need to get thin masts and spar parts. I think the wise man knows that most of the time there are no limits. We set our own limits when we say we can't do anything before we try to do it... Why, Pete? Is there a problem? Best Regards! Igor. P.S. There's a forum for bottled shipbuilders. And group in FB too.

Then I put the upper part of the hull in the bottle and put it in her place with the addition of glue.
-
Then the wiring diagram of the rigging inside the bottle was drawn up and the davits were slightly improved

By the way, Pete, you can see the sail making process here - https://modelshipworld.com/topic/15797-pilot-cutter-jolie-brise-by-igorsky-finished-bottle-scale-1240/page/2/

Many thanks for your feedback, Pete! My home library has several books by different authors about making ships in a bottle. But in these books there are usually only basics and simple examples. So don't limit yourself to books! Communicate with colleagues, fantasize, try to do things that seem impossible at first. Best regards and good luck! Igor. P.S. Write a book? I have another idea!

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
