Hi Carl! Many thanks for good words! I think really it just looks so complicated, but it's not very difficult. All you need to do - just try to do it. And I am sure that you will do it also succesfully. Best Regards! Igor.

Thank you Carl! No, I do not use the mill for this, because now I have the opportunity to buy different kinds of wood planks necessary sizes to me. Best Regards! Igor.

OK, Chrome! I usually try to use for small models solid wood species such as pear, hornbeams etc or you can glue the planks of hard wood on the hull of model. In addition, if you use the planks of wood in different colors you do not need to paint the model. For me, the problem is always good to paint small model. Masts and yards... I like to use bamboo to make them. It is easily processed and I can do the holes of 0.3-0.5 mm in them if necessary. What yarns you are going to use for rigging? Are uou going to make the guns? Best Regards! Igor. P.S. Chrome, I think that the scale of 1/15000 is not quite correct. Perhaps the scale of 1/1500 would be more correct.

Hi Taoism! Now I usually am ordering the planks my desired size 0.5x0.5, 0.5x0.8, 0.5x1 mm. But the planks 0.5x0.5 mm for the deck easily to cut out from veneer 0.5 mm using a scalpel and a metal ruler. Best Regards! Igor.

Hi Jesse! Very nice work! You can try to use thin tubes for guns, such as needle syringe. You can also try to carve the guns out of bamboo. Best Regards! Igor.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
