Hi Patrick, Yes, I agree. Sometimes such happens. But I try not to allow such situation at a bottle choice stage. Though, of course, it isn't possible to exclude such cases completely. But there is other problem which is more important for me. Sometimes I know as to make this or other element of my model outside of a bottle, but I can't place it in the same look in a bottle. Sometimes I think that I could do two identical models at the same time - one for a bottle, and another out off a bottle. But I still never made it ((. Best Regards! Igor.

Hi Mike and Daniel, I absolutely agree with Daniel. Many of my friends offer me empty bottles before throwing out them. I received some bottles from Japan. If I buy alcohol, I too pay attention to a bottle. The chemical bottle sometimes too has a good form and quality. Quite recently I opened for myself perfume's bottles . Hi all, Many thanks for likes and words of approval! Now I continue to build my model of Atlantic, but who can know that will be further... Maybe one more interesting small bottle will fall into hands to me ))) I don't know perhaps to make it even less or not. I think that the main problem not how to make the small boat. It is possible to make the boat for example 10 or 5 mm long, but it will demand absolutely small bottle and absolutely small diameter of a throat of a bottle. And in it I see the main problem. Mike, you can also try to use one of other sets for construction of the ship in a bottle as a basis, for example, St Maria or Catalan Ship. But I think that now you won't want to use a details from the set since you are ready to make they better.

Hi Bob, Yes, I think you have reached excellent result. I tried different methods of imitation of seams between the planks of deck, such as use of threads or paper, coloring of butts of planks, filling of seams with any hard putty.I think, each method has the advantages and shortcomings depending on scale and a species of a tree of which the planks are made. Often I used a metal plate with a sharp edge instead of an emery paper for cleaning of a surface of the deck. It allowed me to receive purer surface and accurate lines of seams. Best Regards! Igor.
