  1. If not, it's an identical twin Jan
  2. Hi Anja, Google 'laker', and you'll see that they have all something in common: kind of boxy appearance. Made to fit in the lcks of the canals between the lakes. (compare it to the Dutch 'motorspits' that is made to the specification of the locks in the Willemsvaart). As Andy is living in the lake area, many (if not all) of his mystery-ones are from the great lakes. Most of the Canadian but some of the from that other country. Jan PS it's unfortunate that MSW1 disappeared, I've seen this Andy pic before.....
  3. Ah, well.... still on line It is Snellius. Phaps I should have used a pic in a somewhat less Dutch atmosphere

  11. You'll need to build an extension to your house..... The kit looks impressive. What is the quality of the laser-cutting? Jan
  12. Ah, you think we can't find out that this isn't a car transporter, nor a roro ship of any kind. It's just somthing else. Don't think I can't find her. Something to do with a bow? Jan
  13. Mind you: well into the 17th century there was no 'national' navy: both admiral;ity (navy) as VOC (and for a short period WIC) where organised on a regional level (the VOC called them 'kamers' (chambers)). There was coordination within the regions, and very little between them. The flags used may not be as standardized as we think they were. The same with respect to colours: there has been no standar colours well into the 19th century. ONly then the standard colours were defined. Don't pay too much attention to red, orange and anything in between...... Jan
  14. And for a car-shipper it even does resemble a ship (a bit) Jan
  15. Oh no... lakers again Jan
  16. Mind: the colourbands do not go one-to-one to the thickstuff. So when Alexandru is using black wood for the thickstuff, his black bands will be higher at the bow than the actual black striped on the hull are... Jan
  17. There is at least one Dutch internetshop who has (part of) the MS-kits in their shop. http://www.modelbouwdekombuis.nl/ Perhaps that lowers the transport-costs? Not sure whether they do UK deliveries They take paypal as method of payment Jan
  18. Sorry guys, I had a very busy weekend.... It is the wooden mock-up MUroc Maru, used to train fighter pilots. Jan

  24. And I posted the edited version, Yeah, I think I will be OK this time. But I feel kind of stupid: investing time for a nice ship to show, and forgetting to double check on the visibility of the name..... Jan
