I had a slight warp in my keel. I wetted one side "lightly" and then put it on a piece of wax paper on a glass surface, covered it with another piece of wax paper and then my building board and a 15 pound dumbbell. The next day it was fixed. I did not soak it because its ply and I wasn't sure if the glue used was waterproof.

hi jeff i really like that jig that u make for the water line looks like it work just fine now iam going to have to make one now tys lol keep up the great work

here i just did a little sanding on the part in the pic u will what i mean just doing a little at a time this is where iam at now

The frames look good fitted all kook nice and square and seem to be sitting in the keel nicely. Well done

Looking good. I like your new keel holder.
Take your time and enjoy the build , like you say make sure everything fits to your satisfation before bringing out the glue

the craftmenship on the bow is sec to none great work that u have done so far very clean keep in going

Your base looks great
Stick a piece of paper in there to shim it
I clamp a square to the side of my keel when I take measurements.

And the journey begins. Looks like you off to a good start.
If it helps I have not yet committed to following the instructions on my build where the upper decks and gunports are concerned. You will need to cut out bulkheads 2 and 7 for the gunports on the lower gun deck. For now my thoughts are leading towards installing the lower gun deck, doing the first layer of planking above the wales , then cutting out the gunports, followed by the upper decks. I would be interested in your thoughts on this. If anything I am holding off mounting the upper decks until I get this figured out.

ok i have got the ribs on the keel only as a dry fit so far look good but some of the rib still need a bit of work to them yet . not goign to glue till there right here some pic

here it is this is the hms victory by corel i have looked all over the part and did a parts list it is all there now iam not building this for me its for my best friend who has passed a way so iam going to build it in is memory then put in a case this build going to be slow as u can see i had a copy of the plans make up in case i need to cut a peace out least i was thinking

Both are very good books. I have them both. The planking book will help you plank any wooden shipmodel, while Underhill's book on rigging is geared towards later 19th century and early 20th century merchant vessels. If they are in usable condition, the price is excellent.

ok now what i have done is glued bottom of the stateroom and the top of it but not glued to the 3 deck yet as i got to do the vent befor i do that there are some caps that will have a strip of wood that will cover them here some pic
