  1. Hi Peter Thanks for looking in here. Yes that's right it's the same kit we have and as you say your oldest when your have mahoni wood. See Adler I built was also mahoni. I was disappointed when I discovered mine was balsa. Good luck with your model build Jens
  2. Hi Elijah Thanks for looking in and comment . I appreciate it a lot.
  3. Hi Nenad I think your model work is excellent you do not need copy anyone, it is alredy a masterpiece.
  4. Hi everybody The bilge pump is a little story for itself I've learned to sand casting on a summer course at an artist school. the theme was jewelry - I'm not interested in jewelry but the technique i can use for metal fitings in model building. At this point the are not glued on yeat. Cheers All Jens
  5. Hi Nenad and Elijah. thank you for writing to me, and for your posetive response I am started from one end - from the front and builds toward the stern So here is the development on the foredeck the pin rails are completed and ready for a estimate day to be glued on the deck one of the things I've been unhappy with by my Prev Cutty Sark models were the two netting machinery and bilge pump on the deck So I've put a lot enagi in precisely these were good Thanks for your patience with me and my model Cheers All. Jens
  6. I find old used aluminum profiles to create new building material, here it for the cargo hatch Here is the gun port door covers put on .On port the are closed and on starboard the slightly open. 68 dead eyes and other things have come on deck The dead eyes ar from Artesania They are 4 mm . The railing is homemade in the same thin aluminum plate as everything else and so brass wire 0:55 glued and painted, no one tell the difference . The one in bras is 1 leftover from Artesania C.S, Cheers All Jens
  7. Hi Tasmanian tanks for your frendly coment . I build the rudder so that it can turn. but it can actually only move a little. but it looks good when turning the ruder and see the wheel turning up on deket. This pic showes the princip of Cutty Sark helm sistem This pic is more like the way i build my helm. And a little paint make the difrens . Cheers All Jens
  8. Hi Elijah This is a little unusaly build log becorse the model haf finish hven i got the idea to make this buildlog so all you see is years old stof. I just in a rus to cats up to todays status so i again can build a litle model in a speed like ennyone els although I use the car dashboard light . the is to large for the navigation lights I made an honest attempt. but failed. On the model space forum. I was helped with the problem to use LED lights instead. I was pleased with the final result Cheers All Jens
  9. Hi Rudolf i mad a princip plan to explane how it build up. After laying the dek plate on , i put wood in the korners betwin the frames so ther was bagground for mounting the alu vit glu an tempreary nails . under the alu begids the "reeal" planking But to make it little more dificult i startede wit planking first then alu and otsid a slim list to covor ataksion from alu and over this list a squar list -- Now the aly is glued in bottom and stands by itself only under control in front and back . at this point you have to chape it and that you do by gluing a squar list on indsid top of alu . and this chapes the curwe of the ship så be kritikal vith the chape it taks as it is permanely . Afterwards you dril tru the squar list and dovn in the dek and glue the round stanchions in. I hope it not all nonsens to read .
  10. Hello Peter Fun to write to a Scandinavian on the other side of the earth. And as you write, it is not good enough that they - Billing Boats do not want to use their own figurehead. and that they now deliver Mark 3 ordision Laser cut and everything and then still with the same old crap that they came up with? 1965-70? It is only the dead eys and the blocks that have changed to wood. since then. They kut due better . Cheres Jens.
  11. Hi Nenad Thanks for comment. Her is some detales in Alu . All ornamentation cut out of a 1mm aluprofil. board in a hardwar stoor for building konstruktions Cheers All Jens
  12. Hi Mark Just luking in to see wat you building and say halo. It always interesting to see a fello Cutty Sark build . And yours is great looking .

  14. Hi All This is a little unfair way to make a buildlog on hven you alredy hawe don the building . at this stage i proberly hawe build on the model for over a year. and this log has taken 2 days so far. enyway it dont stop me , im in a hury to get this Loooo..oong opdat finish so i kan go back building again I make the figurehead in Teak wood when i dont find wats folowed the kit to bee the right sice. Then the cobber butum in paper -"HVAY IN PAPER" ? Becors i have paper and it look reight first painted and then finly waterline fender Cheers All Jens
  15. The Bulwarks Her chowes how power conektet trough stand . and the fals kel. also starting put on alu. bulwarks . The front dek i do like billing make it ( a chape it was under its time under portugise flag .) Then the dek on the front dek and that it . Cheers All Jens
  16. Hi Richard , Tasmanian , Peter and Thunder Thanks for righting mee prisietet it Richard Thanks for nice koment. Peter Jenssen Jeg skulle vel ikke kunne skrive til Dig på dansk ? Tasmanian EL Chapo ? Hu is He ? Thunder . The bedst Kit in my opinion ? The best kit between Billing Boats and Artesania Latina Cutty Sark for the price is certainly Artesania. when talking about material selection, detail, instructions. This also makes artesania far harder / fun to build if they were from the same factory would Billing be catalysed light and artesania for hewig to build. Cheers All Jens.
  17. it is a fantastic build log you hawe made Nenad , i schure vil spend more time studdy it closer Jens
  18. planking pic. It is african walnut 1.8 x 5mm planking from Artesania models. Planking finish and redy for fals kel - frame broken of in stern , isy to glue on again. Well it thake longer than expekted making this log so ill stop for today and kontinu later on . Cheers All Jens.
  19. Hi All I have the idea of building with aluminum at locations where, in fact, is used iron, and it is especially the sea rail I am thinking of.- metal for metal. The wood that is in the kit are balsa wood. which in my opinion can only be used for gliders. I use only the deck plates. the wood I instead use is from a scrapped Artesania kit I have taken over - and what is left from Artesania CS havewer i uses billing wood as filler mostly to get read of it in a konstruktive way Her dek is way onder way . Dek finish planking started Its so long a lether i have to cut in 2.
  20. I will also build inside the captain's cabin, it requires little modification I mount car dashboard lights inside the ship I just did it wrong they were connected in series, they should have been parallel connected - expensive learning money. Cheers All Jens
  21. Hi Again The frames are cut on a band saw by hand and therefore somewhat coarse I will build a false keel so that's why I cut the bow of i folov building instruktion from Artesania , so i cut avay standings but in a way i can youse them later for chaping the bulwork. The frames are set after a string I build things inside the ship and fake iron frames. the plan is to be able to look down into the cargo. All for now next ledder light inside and dekking . Cheers Jens
  22. Hi everybody and thanks for komments Omar , Bill and hof00 So I start my Cutty Sark log First, a little background. I built models since I was a boy - back then it was Airfix I gathered. I also built a few wooden boats -but it was not here it caught my interest razed to build in wood In 1976 or 77, I bought Billing boats See Adler and built the hull but went dead in having to make the rig. so in 1990 I built the finish after having cleaned it off for 13 years dust. In 2010 I build my first Cutty Sark - it's Billing Boats 564 - laser cut. I was not entirely happy with the result and I got the opportunity to try Artesanias Cutty Sark , It was a completely eye-opening experience. there is real quality in diferens in detail and material selection .and in the building instruction. With this model, I got a building log on a side called Jolly Roger shipyard, the closed and so I continued on a page - Model Space Forum where I still am today. Billing boats See Adler finish 1990-91 Billing boats 564 My first Cutty Sark Cutty Sark Artesania Latina My sekkend C.S. But what this is all about is my third Cutty sark - Billing Boats 459 bought used about 30 years old but "almost" complete with fittings. I stop her . and start nekst leder building op the freams/ribs . see you son Cheers All Jens
  23. Hi Nenad and Mark Thanks for warme welcom . i pose just fjue pic . becors i tomorov vil com op vit a new start on this site ,starting from the begining so it seems more lotigly il bee back. Cheers Jens

I am building an old Billing Boats no. 459 Cutty sark as i board sekond hand som years ago and has now buildt for at least 2 years . im nerly finish with the ships hull and is about building the lifeboats . The pic. belov is about 1 week old. I planing to schove pic. from the start and the hole proces as if i started on day 1. and sofort to today . 25. hey Robert I think it's a brilliant idea to build Ferreira and not Cutty sark. I've even had the idea to do it with my model of the Cutty Sark but relented when I had to make ornamatikken and name plate. and now I'm a little annoyed that I can not make a real time image of the ship from the many pictures that exist of "Cutty Sark" at the time, so what I ended up with is many details just not at the same time. My model is Billing Boats 459 Cutty Sark, I'm almost done with the ship's hull - I am about to build lifeboats now. I will probably make a building log at a time. if there is interest in it? Cheers Jens
