    Well the box has arrived and as soon as I can find a hour or two I will attempt to put the bewildering array of parts together. I have already been through the list of parts and all are present and correct. I'm hoping for some plain sailing and not too many squalls!!

    Hi James I have read this build upto date and Mermaid looks like she's going to be a nice little vessel. Unfortunately I have no tips to offer as I'm yet to start anything but hope to soon Happy modelling

    Thanks for the thoughts on my question. Although I have not built a wood boat I do have some experience of modelling from scratch, mainly scenery for wargaming you know buildings, rivers, trees etc... I have been reading some of the build logs on here and have been drawn to HM Cutter Sherbourne as she seems to fit my brief and will give me some experience with rigging a mast and yards. So thanks to all on here.
