Thanks Nils. I'm finding that the rigging of a four master just seems to go on for ever! 🙂

Thanks for the positive feedback on the sails, Keith. It really helps!

Thanks Paul: I think you're right, but I'm afraid I would really like to see her finished and in a proper display case. Visitors keep saying I must have amazing patience, but sometimes I wonder. 🙂

And a warm thankyou to all those who have attached 'likes'!

A very different looking paddle wheeler, Keith. She looks like she's had a hard life.

Thank you Jacques, the plan at the moment is to add support behind the planks at the water line. Either a vertical or horizontal piece of 1/8” basswood between the frames to keep the planks from flexing. Other than that I think the rest will be left open. But you know how plans change 😀

    Hello again.
A change of plans. After testing polyester resin on the Polyisocyanurate foam it showed no signs of melting the foam.
I just wet the foam with the resin then added 300g chopped strand mat and wetted it through.
Left it 24 hours and sliced it through with a bandsaw.
So  I will Not be using the plaster of paris to give the hull a firm surface for finishing.

    Looks good to me
So I will apply 2 layers of 300g matting and sand to a good fare curve mabe adding more matt and resin or filler if needed. then I will spray a grey gel coat onto the sanded surface and fine sand to a finish.
then a white gel coat and fine sand and polish. I am hoping that I can cut the planking seams in with a diamond edge and fare curve plank. Will test this on some scrape before attempting to do it on the hull.
This fibre glassing is all new to me. Any advice ?? .

    Thanks for looking in.
    AntonyUK.

    Hello,
there is not so much happend here. I draw the nails also from the inside of the hull and glued the cleats in, for those frames you may see later. They are 0,6 by 0,8 mm and 3.5 mm long

    Hello,
two more strakes are ready. Now I have 7 ready, two more and I can start working upwards. First I cleaned the inside this morning.

But after that, the ship went back at the plug

    Hello,
and thank you for all the likes and comments.
And before my green kale gets ready, a small update. Yesterday I finished the 5th strake. This morning I took the ship from the plug, to eliminate the glue remains from the inside. It was't so bad as I first exspected.
