A model of a Spanish (originally Portuguese) galleon in a navy board style.The materials are boxwood, pear, linden and ebony.Probably some photo-etched parts.There are few source materials, plans are imagination rather than reality.Probably the only contemporary painting and the galleon is the fresco in the Hall of Battles in El Escorial located in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Besides, one more drawing.

I made the frames of pear wood - 1.6 mm. Every second one frame will be cut after sanding the hull. Everything stuck together temporarily by seccotine glue.

After sanding, I carefully disassembled the sections of double frames. Then I cut out the unnecessary material and gently sanded the center of the frames.

Some progress has been made, but I am currently engaged on a different project. La Real is the first model which I build from wood and I can see how many mistakes I have made so far. Before I start rigging and making oars, I'm going to take a break.

I designed some photo-etched elements, based on photos a Spanish replica from Barcelona.

I cover the photo-etched parts with gold.

I started my adventure with wooden modeling from the Spanish galley "La Real". 
I have some experience only in modeling plastic ships.

I decided to try it on a scale of 1: 150. Model built according to Dusek's plans. 
Making details in a scale of 1: 150 is not easy, especially without experience. With the help of experienced colleagues from the Polish forum "Koga", the work is still progressing.
The hull is made of balsa wood. 
Planking and deck made of pear strips 0,5 mm.
