    Was looking at the pdf files and it looks like I will need to close up some gaps for me to cut my parts on the Laser cutter.

    I got a Laser Cutter for Christmas, so I think I am going to try and cut the parts on there.

    Well got my scroll saw kind of setup but got my first piece cut.

    Slow process today. Got the Instruction manual all printed and put in a 3 ring binder. I got my 1/4 plywood for the false keel and bulkheads. Went and grabbed my dad's scroll saw so I could start cutting things out and found out I had no spray glue to place the templets onto the plywood. So I decided to work on my build board. Grabbed some 3/4 x 12 Oak I had laying around cut it to 36" and noticed it was cupped. Have to go with plan B. My plan B I think will make me a better build board anyway. For now I will read the manual and get familiar with it.

    This will be my first model ship build. I know from reading the build logs it will be a big undertaking for a first build. I hope to get started soon when I get my wood for the first chapter. I plan on scratch building everything I can.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955.
