    Ammo.... Not completely happy but it's not too bad and will hardly, if at all, be visible, but I know it's there so worth the effort. Bombs are in the bay. Seatbelts are attached Not too far off putting the fuselage together now. Slow progress, in fits and starts, but still very enjoyable.

    Bomb bay and bombs are now done and I've primed the fuselage interior ready for paint. I've also been adding some additional weathering, grime and oil stains but not too heavy, to the cockpit and upper gun and tail gun assemblies. I'm quite pleased with how these have turned out. I used Vallejo's game wash in black and sepia thinned with some water. I think I still prefer oils but it's nice to experiment. The nose gear that I bought built up very easily with the kit parts so that's primed as well. It has to be added before closing the fuselage and after adding weight at the front. It did require quite a bit of sanding down but in fairness the manufacturer was very clear that it would need tidying up.

    Cockpit nearly done, just the seatbelts to go. Also the upper gun turret column and tail gun are nearly there. Next up are the bombs and bomb bay. My intention is to put 3 of the bombs onto the model and use the other 3 as part of the museum display but let's see how it goes together.

    Been a busy couple of weeks and I've finally sat down and done a bit more tonight, photos to follow. In the meantime at the weekend we went to the Midlands airshow... Amongst many others the red arrows and the red bull Mitchell B-25J! I was very happy!!

    It's late teens/early 20's this weekend here in the south of England CDW, positively balmy for us Brits. That was yesterday though.. Today riding to and from the museum was in heavy rain and thunderstorms. A mixed weekend weather wise. The museum was fantastic and there are some lovely bikes here. We all meet up twice a year for a long weekend, it's always a great trip whatever the weather.

    Currently on a motorbike weekend in the south of England with some mates and today some of us visited the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovil. Actually very good with lots of interesting planes and helicopters... And they had a Corsair with I took quite a few photos of, hopefully useful when I build mine. Recommended visit if you're ever in the vicinity. And for those of you interested in the bikes we have various models and ages of Yamaha's, Aprilla, Triumph, BMW, Suzuki, Ducati, Kawasaki's, Honda and Moto Guzzi...

    Thanks for the comments CDW. The ZM Fw does look great. There's also an interesting blog on their website, in 4 parts,with building tips I've had a look at. Don't know if you've seen it. https://www.zoukeimura.co.jp/en/sentiment/oyajiblog_128.html I saw the model advertised in a magazine and couldn't resist. Not due here for a couple of months so the timing should be great for me.

    Oh and I pre ordered this as a 3rd addition to the museum, along with the Corsair. Keen try to different manufacturers.

    I've been having a play with mixing colours and trying some pre shading for the first time in the cockpit. I'm trying to get somewhere close to this.. First I built it up and then primed it with Vallejo Black Then fairly heavily pre-shaded with white, all paints are Vallejo Air range by the way. Then I mixed a combination of olive green, BS dark green, black, white and yellow until I thought it was close and then thinned to about 50%. Then applied 3 coats gradually. I'll let that dry now and see how it looks. Then I'll hand paint the rest and do some light weathering. As it's going to be in a museum it shouldn't look too shabby I'm thinking.

    Hi all, So I've finished the engines, well almost, still the exhausts to add to the rear of them although I don't think they will be visible at all. I'm pretty pleased with these though. Shame that not too much is visible when built up... Dry fit test to see what they will look like reveals not much!

    Slow and steady progress. There are 72 parts per engine. You can't fault the detail. And that's before you put the exhaust stacks on. If the rest of the kit has this much to it though, I'll finish sometime around Xmas....2026! 😁

    Oooh, it's fiddly for my fat fingers! Adding the pipe work to the engines. And in other news the B-24's partner in the museum has arrived.
