I wanted to start with the next planking in the middle of the hull but I changed my mind.
I'm now have started at the keel and work my way up.
There is a strange bend at the stern and now I can see how it will go.
I can play with the planks.

    Hello everyone,

This post is just so that all y'all can have a good laugh on me, at least I did

As I started making the hinges for the forward starboard torpedo loading hatches I cut 4 pieces of 2 mm 0.5 brass tubing, or so I thought.  I also cut 8 each 1.5 mm strips of 0.1 mm thick brass sheet.  Great so far, making good progress.
I then proceeded in soldering the 2 mm brass "tubes" to the strips, still working great.  I then filed the brass "tubes" to the width of the strips and wanted to de-bur the tubes.  Well, I didn't see the holes in them and thought, oh poop, I got some solder inside and started to clean them out with my #80 drill bit in a small hand drill.  Hmmmm, not much progress.  So I put a #80 bit in my Proxon drill motor.  It was slow going because it got real hot quick and burned my fingers.  I switched the little bugger to a small pair of pliers and after about 5 minutes I drilled clear through the length of the brass "tube."  Great, I thought, that worked - - - never even giving it a second thought - - - hmmmm strange, why so much solder inside the tube - - - well, okaaaaay - - - over to the next one.

Well, that one showed the same symptoms and again I started drilling the assumed solder out of the brass "tube' but broke the drill bit.  Hmmmm, scratched my head and looked at the assumed brass "tubes" real close under a magnifier.  I couldn't believe what I did

Okay now all yuns can start laughing - - - Instead of the 0.5 mm brass tube I took a 0.5 mm brass rod that was laying there!!!  Needles to say I first slapped myself on the forehead and shouted DOMKOP !!  and then laughed myself silly.  So what - - - pfffffff while throwing hands up halfway          Wow, that's two Dutch words in one post, yuns are so lucky

On the positive side, I now know that I can drill a hole through a 0.5 mm brass rod and make a tube out of it      Anyone else want to try that?  On second thought, perhaps not - - - these cheap Chinese drill bits break real easy.

At that time I had to get ready to go to my monthly colored pencil club meeting and planned to correct this embarrassing fiasco later in the pm, which I did without any further mishaps or mistakes.  Sooooh - - - hopefully I'll have these two hatch doors done tomorrow and everything dressed and painted nice and on to the aft deck.

Hick - - hick - - ha -ha -ha - hick - - hick.  Sorry about that, I'm still chuckling about it.

    Cheers,

    Dear friends,
I warmly thank you for your praise and all comments, I am honoured a lot and appreciate your kind words.

Well, these cleats are my newest and I spent plenty of time searching suitable way, how to make them. I have to admit that my first cleats were not very good.

That's a walnut-tree wood. I like this kind of wood, it has a nice colour and it is quite easy to machined it.

And now what's new on Royal Caroline...
There are finished all cleats and now I am working on channels and deadeyes - they are made on CNC lathe (not my own - I purchased them here:
http://www.radekshipmodels.cz/en/list-of-kits-and-accessories/accessory---blocks ), but it is necessary to improve the deadeyes for more realistic appearance and better looking surface.

Here are some pics, please enjoy them:

All channels were glued onto wooden beams - one of them is highlighted with red spots on first picture below. These beams were embed into the hull and secured with glue. I tested the durability and bond strength and it proved to be a very good solution at card models.

Happy New to you both Wayne and Augie,

The first glue is on the Aggy.
I placed the bow piece, keel strips and rudder post.
    Everything fits perfect !
As you can see at the stern, there was a piece broken when Mobbsie was checking the box.
He fix it for me and when the hull is closed, you don't see a thing.
If this part is the only part that's gonna be broken, I'm a happy camper
    And of course pictures !

    Morning friends,

As I promised, the 1st of January and I will start the Aggy !

The tape is now from the box and I make my building board.
After that I cut out all the frames.......
There has to be a little work so they can fit in there slots.
I want to show you how big those frames are so I placed one in front of the Half Moon from Anja.
Let the voyage begin with pictures.

The bulkheads are in place ( dry fit )

They tell me to push the lower gun deck with a little force in place.
I'm afraid that I broke something when I do that, so a little bit more playing with the file.
The last picture is to show you how big it is

    Little update.

The bulkheads are in place and glued.
The lower gun deck is also in place.
Glued the bow cheeks and the support at the stern
Next thing to do are the support for the false canons and painting......
A part of the lower gun deck will be planked .
Only what you can see from the upper deck, the rest will be painted black.
And of course ,what is a build with our breaking something......
I have break two tops of two frames
Glued them again and I have to see how i can place a support on it.

Next thing to do.....planking lower gun deck .
Not totally, only what's visible from the middle and upper deck.
    And panting.....

    Update time

I made a frame on the lower gun deck and fill that with planking......
You will not see all of it when the middle deck is placed but you will see something.
I also placed a king plank in the middle of 5 mm wide.
The deck planking is 4 mm.
The length is 125 mm so it fits nice on the edges.

    I have one question.
I used the 5 shift of buts.
I have started on the left side of the king plank.
On the other side I did the same.
The right side is a mirror image of the left side.

But is that the correct way of doing it?
I hope you understand what I mean.
    Now it's time for pictures.

The middle deck has his planking.....
With ( for the first time ) the tree nailing......
I also plank the bow deck.
    That's it for the moment.
She goes on the shelf and the San Ildefonso is coming down again.
When the main mast has his shrouds and ratlines, I'll be back to the Aggy again.

It's the planking of the inner bulwark.
And you can never have enough clamps
