I think we are with 4 people almost in the same stage including Matti and Michael with the completing phase of the ship and waiting for the rigging so we can help each other

@ Jan:
the attirbutes are already dry-fitted before I fixed this one. I know now that I need some extra fillers inbetween the figures as the figures dimensions are not exactly correct due to some changes by me.
further ordered some extra attributes to replace the dolfins as delivered by Corel(Corel partnummer D304)

This evening I tried to locate all attributes on the Stockholm scale model (1:10). I am going to use this as a basis for the painting
I will print these pictures and use these as a guideline during painting
reference is made to the part numbers according the building instruction of Corel. I also marked the items in a sort box

starboard side is now also painted. in order to get going on, I have already glued some attributes in front and rear side (as an activator for my self to continue after this holiday period )

Continuing on with the deck items!
The Corel kit comes with metal door pieces. I was able to grind away all of the middle parts of the metal, leaving the decorative frame. I then made the doors out of wood and inserted the decorative frame around the edges. I later take these off and gold leaf them along with all the other fittings later. (I'll get into my gold leafing process (why and how I did them in future posts)!
Working on the bow section.

This Brass Black is perfect for making brass parts black within seconds. I usually do some liquid in a small old cup and after use I return the liquid back in the bottle. this works now perfect for over 3-4 years now.
I assume you found a local supplier for this (used also in wappons, so a wappon specialist can also be of help for this)
wishing you and all other regualar visitors all the best for 2014
