  4. The dimensions of the carvings made a modification of the window openings and gunports are absolutely necessary. My mistake in the frame construction or the finished size of the carvings, no matterit müsst be changed. Karl Part 12 Google Translator
  5. The mirror, as well as on both sides window bay window with its carvings I have already finished, with the oriels still missing carvings / figures attached later. I have decided not or color this model, or only black/brown wood stain for the moldings and golg color for the numeros crowns. The model will look a bit different from really beautiful and colorful models of Maarten or Doris, etc. First off all, I will start with the interior design of the model. Karl Part 11

  11. " LE CENTAURE 1782" Scale 1/36 April 2015 I started with the construction of the model and soon realized, "that is a big think". I wanted to present it as a cross-section model with complete interior design, in the style of my model BONHOMME RICHARD 1779. On some whim I finished the construction Oktober 2016, all nicely packed and mothballed. I still want to show the images of the construction protocol, and have the hope that it will eventually be built further. The sequence of images extends over a period of eighteen month in the time-lapse mode. Karl (Google Translator)

About the NRG

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
