  1. Alan this might help with the French Grenadier Scheme of the time - OC.
  2. Excellent work Alan, he is taking a really nice 3D shape to him now - great demarcation between the shades - love it mate. OC.
  3. That has gone together well Alan, I know what you mean about the Vallejo Putty - I found the same with it staying a we bit soft and sagging into the join, I love the shape of the jet - will be so nice watching your progress with it. OC.
  4. Thank you kindly Jeff, I know what you mean my eyesight has always been one good one and one not so, but I far to often made the mistake of being on my laptop for far to long combined with tv watching while wearing the wrong strength glasses - straining my eyes and causing the ocular migraine without my knowing till those flashing - pulsing patterns of coloured shapes made them self present. It was good to have the advanced scans on my eyes for them to confirm the condition, I know take regular paracetamol and it does help (kind of like for a normal headache migraine) OC.
  5. Indeed mate - I was thinking the same, I have that styrene I brought months a go - the one that arrived broken up, on the next dry day I could get in my back yard and start cutting it down more into shape, that should be less hard on my eyesight with my new glasses. OC.
  6. I have my optovisor with drop in different strength lenses that I have always used with my wrong strength (none) prescription glasses that where too weak, my new prescription ones I have been tested for jump up from 3.5 to nealy 7 times magnification, so lots more magnification there. OC.
  7. I am in Two minds over this Alan, I think as there is no rush - perhaps best to wait till my new glasses arrive and play around to see how I go - I could return to it by doing the scenery that needs creating out of those sytrene pieces I ordered some time back, it will be less eye strain related than my figures. OC.
  8. Thank you kindly Jack, I am not being seen through my doctors for my eyes, it was-is with my local opticians and it would not be very practical to take one of my figures there, I already had special scans on my eyes, and have been told the condition can still happen any time (good job I don't drive). OC.
  9. Good afternoon all, I have spent some time today giving my build some serious thought, I think I may struggle to do small scale figure making - so perhaps its time to see if I can sell what I have done so far as a work in progress for someone else to continue it. I would not have a clue how much it is worth or if anyone would be interested. Sad but if I am not going to do it credit - perhaps its time to pass it on. OC.
  10. Thank you kindly Mark, I am taking good care of my eyes and will continue to do so after I pick up my new prescription glasses next Wed, its part my own fault on the net for like 12 hours on the trot and not the correct glasses trying to see everything - put so much strain on my eyes - till my brain said "enough". OC.
  11. Outstanding work in every way - lovely work. OC.
  12. Glad your safe and not too much damage Craig. OC.
  13. Deffo like what you are doing Alan - that is coming og on so very well. OC.
  14. Thank you kindly Alan, it was such a relief to have a good outcome from sutch an advanced scan I had done - as I thought i was going blind or something. OC.
  15. Thank you all for the kind replies - I have not been on while having tests on my vision - I am suffering from ocular migraines caused by eye strain from the wrong glasses and too much computer usage, I have got a new glass prescription to pick up next week for Two new sets of glasses, in the mean time - its less comp use and regular paracetamol. OC.
  16. Hi folks, before you think "yippy an update" no such luck for now, I have picked up a strange eye condition, that led me last evening to call the out of hours medical people for advice, For the last week (When it started) I am getting a kaleidoscope type anomaly happing in my vision even with my eyes closed, they last for a few minutes than shrink in size before vanishing - its happened to me about Four times now with a gap of a few days when I was fine. My vision needs glasses but I have not had me eyes tested in a while. The phone call I did - I was asked many questions to narrow down the cause - and they cut out anything needing hospital action - but advised me to see and optician for an eye test. It doesn't rain - it pours with my model building lol. OC.
  17. Hey Alen, thats turned out really nice - you have to take into account the problems you had with the kit, and then the scale - you have built a faithfull rendition of the the old bird - she looks just like an "Argy" yep I have seen a few at a few airfields over here. OC.
  18. Turned out well I think, staining is not that easy to do and get right. OC.
  19. Another excellent kit Alan - blimey you are keeping yourself busy mate. OC.
