  1. Remember the weird bit before anyone got any ideas. Bit of work done on the hoist
  2. Next update working on the rear wheel this is what pocher would have you use. So for the horrendously expensive price of £7.50(including postage)I got these. Money well spent, the eagle eyed among you will notice I even put the yellow paint on the allen bolts to show if they have loosened. They would even have you attach the rear sprocket with Phillip's screws.
  3. Did some work on the engine (as I said at the start because this kit was designed to be built complete I had to overcome some problems firstly the carb intakes were blanked off so I had to drill those out. Then of course I had to bung the hole up with some rag to stop the dust getting in there. Of course all workshops need a bench.
  4. I think you're justified to have an ego on this there is some excellent modelling skills being shown here.
  5. Thanks Mark I've built loads of these fantastic tamiya kits. Well all garages need a spray boothe so I had a go at making one.
  6. By now I couldn't resist putting together what I'd got.
  7. No guesses oh well. On with the build. Joe likes a cup of steaming coffee.
  8. Hang on what on earth is this, how could this have anything to do with Joe's truck.
  9. Well I've spent most of tonight working on the exhaust (it goes down and under the car on the original version) it has to come out through the side panel on this version and on the actual car would have nuts to undo in order to move the exhaust and open the side panel. On this I obviously cant glue the exhaust to the manifold as I wont be able to put the side panel on and I cant put the side I've managed to figure a way to do it similar to the way it would have been done on the real car (will post pics when I've painted it all)
  10. More dirtying up of the chassis and engine. Poor old Joe's truck looks like it's on its last legs.
  11. So I added the exhaust it was very difficult to show the bad fit in a photo but it took 3 days countless swearing and not a small amount of plasticard and filler to achieve a decent fit (I even took the spre plugs out so I could get at the screws holding it together to loosen them off and try giggling it to try and get it to fit)(and this is not the worst part of the kit) the radiator on this kit is a joke (wait till I get to it and you will see what I mean) dont get me wrong it's a huge kit with loads of potential but they did so much penny pinching on it.
  12. I did respoke the wheels with florists wire (a job I will never undertake again) These are the parts that need repainting, and the colour they will be.
  13. That's an updated version (although I note no updated detail) when I bought mine you could only get it in red . The next update will be the tri colour version (which will be my next version, but with no extra cost as I will just respray my one)
  14. So the throttle bodys finished and added next problem the awful fit of the exhaust (yes on a kit this expensive there are bad fitting parts)
  15. Couldn't resist trying a bit of varnish, I must as after 2 or three coats I think it might look alright.
  16. Thanks for the info (I wasnt sure who it was it was i thought a toss up between Ferrari or alfa glad to have the correct info) This in silver must have been pretty impressive. Wish I had those sort of skills.
  17. The throttle bodies come like this just an oval piece of dished plastic, I know it cant be seen in any way on the finished model but I thought I could do much better. I got a piece of self adhesive aluminium tape and brass leafed it then cut it to shape to make the butterfly. I cut a piece of sprue to the right length then cut that in half lengthwise. Drilled 2 holes in it and added screws, fairly convincing butterfly. The rest of the pictures of this is all that comes with the kit, again I didn't think there was enough detail so my next installment will be adding the extra detail to it.
  18. Lots of wiring added (I used a stripped out ethernet cable to get those wires) finding the right thickness and right colours for the wires was the hardest part of this build.
  19. Hi all well I've started with the first skin (needs a bit of filler) I think by the time it's got the wood on it, it should look ok.
