  1. Thanks Hase for the info the book I got I would not really recommend seems to deal with one ship in a particular time frame.I could not go with Revells stanchions and made my own with .030" plastic rod and brass heads.
  2. I know about the gun layout "it's my boat" as to the mines I was dubious to add the other two seeing the book also showed four I will pry off two "the quad stays and the 37mm captain"Thanks for the input. If I do Hsae decide to go historical it will be a tough decision.
  3. I now have the mines complete and glued to the deck what you see here is about 3hrs of work it was just tough finding the time of late ........Life.I got the chain for the stern(looks perfect to scale) of the boat on craft with mines=chain and depth charges =rope . I ust got to blacken the chain probably get Russ down the street since my gun stuff is old. This boat looks to be loaded out to whup ***.
  4. Thanks Ken.The mine is a 3/8" wooden ball from HobbyLobby,base square tubes @.365"X2.020" sides,detonators .010' brass wire,weld seam thread and up front plastic/PE from a 1/350 build.
  5. Starting to build the mines this attempt #2 it will be on the deck.I ordered some chain @36links per inch from Blue Jacket am I right in the thought process in 1/72 scale about a 3/4' link?
  6. Thanks for the likes and interest fellas a little more today.I installed railing on the back deck, built trunnion for Quad, installed PE above tubes and started adding the mags for the 20mm up front.I am basically working inside out like most builds even planes.I keep finding more I can do more with the Quad using some of Eduards PE We'll see.I definitely adding the Eduard PE mags they fit better than the kits and I have a few more than the kit supplied.I noticed tonight I have to make some 37mm rounds 4/5 would look good stacked in the gun.
  7. I am building this up on a sister site for a GB and finally starting to move along some.I am adding the Quad to the back moved the 37mm to the center position and a single 20mm up front. The kit did not supply the mines for the racks out back so I will making those with the boxes.I would say that I am about 50% complete ATTM.The cabin is just laid in place for fitting/checking issue looks to be good to go I intend to gloss some things in the area of the cabin esp. Torpedo tubes and wash/highlight. If you are interested in looking : https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/18831-revell-s-100-schnellboat-172/
  8. Which scheme Andy? or do plan on holding that till the end?
  9. Alan that really looks Sasweet and all the effort paid off!! Great Job!
  10. Nice ,Quick and Efficient work Andy.I do not play in 1/72 much anymore but I do like that upper one-piece wing design.
  11. Don't sell it short Rob looks stunning just sitting there.Me I am doing the S-100 1/72 the PE will keep one busy still studying paints? and it's "Get Wet"
  12. I like the demarcation on this build morso than the Buffalo as far as scale effect goes.Should look sharp when done!
  13. Mike this up coming GB had me finish and build three kits in 4 weeks just staying busy..
  14. I started on the S-100 tonight just about got the console completed as far as PE placement.
  15. Thanks Mark I had forgot to add those wing stabilizers(?) to the lower wing was clearing that desk found them done now.I am setting up to start the S-100 Schnellboat 1/72 with the full Eduard Compliment then on to the 1/32 Ar-196 the GB is "Let's get Wet" any scale and if it hit the water.I think one person is toying with a Dio of the Dunkirk Spit. I actually finished a little 1/72 Sopwith Tripe it's so small.
  16. I am calling this one finished clearing the bench Boys for the GB.The rigging is just stretched grey sprue and the cocking mechanism for the MG's just was being a PIA said FIT.The build was really to see if I could pull a paint scheme as such for other builds down the road and a cheap kit with a poor fit was a good test it took me 8 months off/on to get this done. The trash can looked appealing more than once.
  17. Maybe so Ken but it's been about five years in between these Trainer/testing builds.
  18. This is my third in the Japanese A/C the color is an old paint out of production maybe 20years now Floquil "Reefer Orange" I have enough to do one more 1/48 a/c . Thanks Alan the build took me about two weeks is OOB as much as I could get.I lost a climbing handle made out of .020" wire,I broke off the rear windscreen doing the top wing(stepped on it) made a new one easy peasy and I exchange .012" wire for the .020".Oh I also had to paint the meatballs decals just to thick even for "Walthers"setting solution.
  19. I built this and two other kits waiting on a water theme GB on another forum all in one month cranking.I hope it's as pleasing to your eyes as it was to build.
  20. Getting closer and closer Rob.
  21. Judging by Mr.Goodbar the tail is about 3.5" and the fuselage about 12/13" of good size Denis and looking very good with all those handmade parts. Doing well Sir!
  22. Looking Sasweeeeeet Mike!I am beginning to see you have the same fetish as me ........INJ.The lines and layout of their ships are quite appealing to my eyes.Carry On.
  23. Thank You for posting will be using it as a reference(bookmarked) I have the hull ready for planking.Kevin
