B-25 C/D by Javlin - Airfix - 1/72 - PLASTIC
Javlin replied to Javlin's topic in Completed non-ship models
It adds Dan pulls everything into play.I am doing more displays/bases it seems I did one here for the S-100. -
The better/best way to fill a seam You mean they fired the A-Team That would be saasweeet I almost traveled that road with the Tigercat on the table now just because I have never seen one before and the excuse would be "it has hit the paint booth yet".Nice work all around Dan I have the Revell/SpecialHobby 1/32 in the stash.

Thks Mark the kit is a little gem would work well in NMF. This is another quickie AMT's F7-7 2/2N most likely yellow development stage but boy silver is screaming at me like before she hit the paint booth for the yellow?? -
This was really a quick build I did for a GB on another site it took me maybe a couple weeks while working the S-100 at the same time. The wood ids Birch for the base would of liked to redo it but it was my last piece.

Dullcoated working out the final touches looks better in person will try some shots outside. The weathering of the hull to which only one side id complete ATTM has been quite enjoyable.

I say maybe 2/4hrs left on this one.I have added angle braces to the starboard side to three stanchions, added chain to the stern and added chain to port.I still have three angle braces for port, flat coat, glass for Kalotte, anchor and rigging. The final stage will be the hull weathering and another flat it will be light.

I am not through with the weathering still got the sides of the hull to go.I do not have much more to add to the fore deck mainly just the anchor which I plan to repaint probably black/gray.I went what I thought was light on the rust using a rubber paint brush Nice and Pointy.I just had to start on the railings lesson learned glue in play bottom rung first and attach carefully the bottom wire gets the alignment done straight every thing else falls into place. PS: going light on the weathering a boat maybe 6/12 months more like 6 in service.

From My perspective you are ahead of the game and winning these little thing are not easy and yes frustrating. It will be great once you start painting then that's another log in itself.

Can you tell I am on Holiday?I keep pressing this one forward .I have added more to the bow section still need to add rails, anchor gaff pole. The Kalotte still needs bit and pieces to finish it out reason for no Future there yet.The bridge is done except for antennas and life rings.I start tomorrow with highlights and weathering wish me luck. The S-100's had more metal and heavier than the S-38's so rust but I am thinking a greenish grey for vertical streaks to the hull like algae and maybe the occasional oil? Hase you have any good side pics of weathering?Much obliged if you do.Kevin

I have started construction of the middle gun Hase may look more menacing than the 37mm with the added PE from the kit.

The PE kit has you remove the plastic off the deck then I went back with a drill bit and cleaned a little bit more out.I have some some .012" guitar string I am going to use upstairs and the LOwer now i understand!IIt looks according to my references it lays outside with metal over the top that is still in planning could just be water based glue once tacked in play and painted.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
