Hence my question on how you hold the ratlines in place until glued

.  When I have done this, I put drops of white glue on the shrouds, and then,  lay a small piece of line across the drops of glue on the shrouds

to form the ratline, wiggle it a bit from side to side to pick up the glue, and it will stay in place until the glue dries if not disturbed.

I can make a pic, if this is not clear.

Too much gluing is often very glittering. I think the problem of curving down between shrouds that are far apart is more urgent. So far, I have found out to change the direction of the clove hitch so that the out coming thread is pointing downwards from both sides of the larger distances between shrouds. But even so it is difficult to make them look naturally hanging. Maybe someone have ideas to solve that problem?

With my scale 1/128...this is the manner in which I attach my ratlines to the shrouds
