Minicraft 1:350 Plastic, Centennial Titanic kit.

Has anyone had any experience with this kit? I've never assembled a Minicraft kit before and want some feed back about the instructions, Parts quality and fitting issues if any. I have had a browse through this site but I don't think anyone is building a 1:350 scale version. Thanks in advance.

Visit the Titanic Research and Modeling Association's website ( titanic-model.com ). There is an astonishing amount of material there, on the ships of the "Olympic"  class and models of them, including articles on the kit of interest to you.

I built one as a teenager in the 90's... my impression even then was that it was a fairly crappy kit (bulkheads too thick, tons of fit issues, poorly molded/ detailed by today's standards). 

 

But if you want a 1/350 Titanic, that's the only game in town and it CAN be built up into something specatular with aftermarket goodies and plenty of hard work.

The quality of the moldings isn't great. But it is the most accurate starting point if you want to go nuts with photo etch and some scratch building. Grimes suggestion theTRMA website is an excellent one there is a wealth of information there.

I'll third the TRMA site, they are simply superb. The Minicraft kit, with aftermarket accessories, can be the most accurate kit on the market. That being said, straight out the box there are a ton of fit issues, even on the latest reissue.

I'm working on the Academy 1:400 kit.........the TRMA has been a godsend for info.   the minicraft kit seems to be their most popular kit.....perhaps they have a few tips for you
