Found that the dimensions of the Gorch Fock are 56,6 x 95 x 25,9 cm. Yep, a big one.

John

haha Sjors . maube i wil maybe i wont. anyway she is too long to fit on the build board for the endeavour so i wil need a bigger one plus the is longer then my workbench is deep so if i stored her like that (would have to wiht al th eother build there) she d be sticking out a fair bit which i think is not a good idea

Absolutely.  Getting room for a bigger workbench is a good reason for building a new house :D .  (Don't ask me how I know that).

Reminds me of the Gas Chromatograph I rebuild in grad school. The manual was poorly translated japanese, sure make understanding thing difficult. Luckily there were pictures.

WOW, I had no idea the Fock was that large. I think Augies right though, if not a new house at least a new added on room/workshop. Just think you only have 90% of the instructions to translate...

Hope you hear news on parts soon.

nope still no news on the parts. wil email them again tomorrow

to get an idea i  dry assembled bulkheads and some of the decks. as you can see she is to large for the board i made for the endeavour

and here to compare with the endeavour which is scale 1:60

Yes, she's a big girl!  But wait.......didn't I read somewhere that you only 'peeked' into the box?  Looks like Sjors was right ---- you're doomed :D  :D

only 2 keith :P

i am finishing off the 2 nd deck on my kom and on eof the mian parts is fitting the curved stairs which are giving me a headache. so last night i was not in the mood to do anything on her and to pass the time i just fitted t h e bulkheads and some decks. i noticed there was an unevenes between the 3 parts of the deck not sure if t hat is because the bulkheads where loose.

by doing the translation (28/216 now) i also looked at some of the things i will do different. there is a lot of painting on this ship which i am not good at so i need to find a way to get the waterline (from green to white) perfect.

btw sonce the whole hull wil be painted i dont understand why they made this a double planking kit

I don't know, but 6 pages just to take a peek inside the box must be some kind of a record :D  :D

"Until I start?"

I thought we already did. Inventory, ordered missing parts, test fit, research, Finding small fitting problems in 2nd test fit, translating - so when does a build start officially, when glue hits wood.

I think we may have a false start here otherwise :D  :D

I will be watching very closely as I have just got the same kit - mine came in 2 boxes and I had a couple of buddies look at it and they were quite impressed. I haven't started to unpack my kit yet so will be looking for missing parts - the quality of the OcCre kit seems very good. I will not be starting my build for awhile yet as I have the billings Bounty on my work bench that I have just started the rigging.
