Built the wheelhouse and have planked the inner- and outerside. Now will start with the helm, windowframes, ceiling and decals and so on.

It's not so complicated, this is only a lot of work.

Remember a part of wheel will sink in the bottom of the wheelhouse, now you have glued the sides you will need tweezers.

And don't forget the stove, it's cold now .

Thanks Wim, I am aware of that, but since I decided to plank the wheelhouse inside as well it looks more convenient to finish the walls and windows first before placing the wheel. No stove needed, underfloor heating is provided in the wheelhouse.

Finished the walls of the wheelhouse. Made the lines in the windows with a permanent marker (CD pen). So leaving now the ceiling and the decals on the roof.

Thank you Sjors, will keep in mind to provide an easy entrence to the wheelhouse (maybe a chairlift will be convenient). Luckily you didnot notice that on the last picture the wheelhouse was standing on the roof  .

So why not a roof?

If it is not glued yet, it's no problem 

No elevator, just a stair is enough…..

It's strange to see it driving into water.

Yes, I have seen that. Really weird. The weekend paper reported that there has been made an emergency call that a car was hitting in the water. Afterall the firefighting team discovered that someone not knowing the splash tour made this call seeing the bus hitting in the water.

Finished the wheelhouse with the roof, hooter and stove stack. The stairs to the wheelhouse door have to wait till I finished the 3rd deck with the ventilation windows of the second deck stateroom.

Hi "hawkeye" Adrieke, the answer is simple, I forgot the stove ! Have to restore that.

 

Moreover, had problems to have the third deck a little bit curved sothat the ventilation windows fit to the third deck. At last I decided to do the trick with hot water and a bit of ammonia and forgot that the doors and windows are painted. The varnish was not able to protect the paint from the ammonia and now the third deck stateroom is ruined. These are really stupid actions by me leading to a building disaster. I am not feeling well last days, which proves you have to abstain modeling when you are not fit.

 

Well a lot of restauration to do.

Adrieke, before starting the restauration job, could you confirm that the second deck state-room is curved as per the picture below ? Otherwise I have to correct the third deck in to a straight line. Thanks your help.

I had the same problem with the 3rd deck, it was a little curved.

To hide the small gaps I placed a small plank around.

as Wim already confirmed it is curved. while the stateroom itself is straight. another AL mistake

 

thats why i have refrained from working on the 3rd deck stateroom til i have the deck glued down and i can start to establish the curve in the 3rd deck

Wim and Adrieke, thanks for your confirmation. Thought I was doing all wrong. Problem is that I first glued the third deck state-saloon on the deck and next the ventilation windows all as per AL photosheets. Thats why the 3rd state-saloon is now a complete mess after having tried to bend the front and rear end in the curve needed.

 

Thanks for your picture Wim, it is a nice solution.

 

Have removed the state-saloon from the deck in order to restore it and it looks that I am now able to glue the 3rd deck with the ventilations window in the right curve. Think I will try that and add the saloon after restauration.

 

Think I first take a break (and a beer) to recover from my frustration.
