GrandpaPhil Posted October 26, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 26, 2018 It doesn’t appear that there are gunport lids on 8 gunports on each side of the Upper Gun Deck of the HMS Victory according to the outboard profile in the Anatomy of the Ship for the Victory. Am I reading my plans right? I just want to make sure before I make appropriate adjustments. One shot is of the exact area you are asking about and clearly shows the "lidless" waist gun ports. Follow the link bellow. However, slightly later in that century they were done away with, largely to save money.
