Hello,

I have a question.

On the HMS Victory which shrouds are served?

Only the first fore shroud, here i`m shure or the first fore topmast shroud and all fore topmast futtock shrouds.

I can`t find any information how is correctly

Cheers

Did you look at images on the Web ?

OK, views of what VICTORY might have looked where and when are changing as research progresses (see 'dafi's' building log), but Longridge's book on Nelson's ships might still be a good starting point.

Hi,

I have a few hundred photos of the original in Portsmouth and also some books, including "The anatomy of Nelson`s Ship, Mondfeld ect. But alternative designs are suggested for many things.

e.g .:

This is then called "artistic freedom" But how it is "right" is not clear.

Until somebody cites a contrary authority, I'd say any shroud which might potentially be subject to chafe by a yard can be expected to be wormed, parceled, and served. These are generally the forward shrouds on each mast, at least as high as the highest yard.

Thank you so much!

Got it!
