Posted January 17, 2022 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2022 Incredible story behind this boat: one of the greatest feats of seamanship, Captain Bligh's seemingly impossible voyage in a small open boat from near Tonga to Timor, 3618 nautical miles. lots of sanding I was confused by these cutouts for the oars. I added small blocks which can be inserted when the boat is under sail to increase free-board, which was already low in this overloaded vessel. Somebody build a full scale replica and used something similar to seal off these cutouts. Other options would have ben some posts seen in other models. Does anybody know which version is the historically most accurate? Very enjoyable build. Certainly not your doing, but with so much contemporary information on various ships' boats available, it would be a real joy if OcCre would do at least a little research instead of putting out their own ideas on what this famous boat looked like and how it was constructed. Again, I realize these are the kit maker's design mistakes.
