Asian pear wood

It looks like Swiss pear wood. The hardwood has a very sturdy and dense surface, and I hardly notice its grains. Also, the price is similar to cherry wood, although I have to cut it by myself. I'm glad that I found a quality wood supplier locally.

Callery Pear - a group of ornamental Pear trees whose wood is also excellent for our use.  The color is darker.   The Web says that Pyrus calleryana is a native of China and Vietnam.

 

Masa,  looks like you have found a wonderful timber.  My impulse would be to be greedy and hoard as much as I could.

It is a pleasure to see a MSW member who is based in Korea! Where in South Korea are you located? I am located in Seoul. Also, you seem to have sourced beautiful pear wood in Korea. Would you be able to share where you managed to source such fine wood please?
